This is not a trojan. Wacatac behavior is to copy or create files, then allow malicious people to take control of your system. Copying or creating files is a behavior of this copy of the game, given it's one big executable. The game has to unpack some files in order to work. That's what is getting flagged.

I've personally dealt with Microsoft when it comes to Trojans, and it's not a pleasant experience. One of the games I work with was flagged for carrying Doplik virus. After thorough investigation we found that the nwjs version used in the game was no longer being supported and they flagged it as Trojan intentionally to force developers to upgrade. While "newer is always better", in this case it broke backwards compatibility with Windows 7/8 as the newer nwjs did not support older OSes.

Long story short, MS didn't budge and a lot of players lost access to the game. It's rarely a "simple" choice with detection these days. Even false positives are being engineered on purpose. As a dev the choice is to eat the AV flags and have average joe panic or make changes that aren't exactly ideal.

PS: You spending money on the game doesn't really give you an edge in this conversation.

tbf and tbh i recently culled duplicate games - zipped archives and unzipped folders. all from this website.
realistically from those hundreds of files, NONE of them gave me this warning. None of them flagged that specific threat.
so its beyond reasonable for me to appreciate what youre saying, even if it is 100% true and accurate; how did and how do all the other games, of all various kinds, do what youre saying, without also having this antivirus flag/"trojan"?

obviously its not worth ignoring, even if im completely wrong, and there is absolutely zero threat in actuality.

ill be unwatching and unfollowing this game; its 2025; the dev can figure out how to fix this, since it is again, the singular game/download out of around 100 that ive downloaded, that has flagged like this, from this website.

Hi, I just now bought this game (been a fan for years and finally got to buy it!) and every time I've tried downloading the Windows file, my computer detects it as a "Wacatac.B!ml" file, a trojan virus.. Is there a way to fix this? I am so sad if my mom spent good money on a virus /:

Also searching the word virus brought up 10 people mention it, so yeah false positive because the dev mentions it every time it's safe
Also weird his mom bought him a porn game

Fed the linux build to ClamTK and it says no threat so ig this one is safe

When i open the game the screen keep all black, the music stay playing and when move my mouse by the screen i feel the sounds of the menus. Somebody know anything about? (sorry for my bad english)

You need to make a shortcut of the game and in the end of the target paste ¨ --rendering-driver opengl3 ¨

So... I was tryin to play it on normal way but it cant open, then I can open it with cmd --rendering-driver opengl3, but there are some error codes like "animation not found" am I missing out on some nice scenes because Im running it using opengl3 or is it working normally?

It's quite odd it's only complaining about animation 0aa... Seems like a place holder name or something (a name you would give to push something at the top of an alphanumerically sorted list). What is supposed to happen when those messages trigger ?
Regarding dia_off.wav error it's just a sound.
