VN - Ren'Py - Harem Hotel [v0.17.2] [Runey]

Played through v0.9.2 halfway so far. I went in expecting a generic 3DCG VN game but the fun development of the characters really took me by surprise. Although it starts pretty smutty, the character story really picks up and there are many great feels and funny scenes. Not something you'd expect from a beta.

Excellent game, plus the creator releases updates for free.

Well just started the game for the first time, did a complete playthrough up until latest content. Will say there is plenty of content and more to branch off with the char story's/hotel setup.
Love the choice selection without any real drawback which is creating a true harem. art 9/10 dialog 9.5/10 Hscene's 9/10 Overall fairly pleased with the game and waiting to see where it goes.

Really Love this game and just waiting to see what happens next. I have been following it for some time and waiting to see what happens when they reach the elves. The characters are a lot of fun and the story is a lot deeper tan I first expected. Keep up the excellent work.

This game keeps getting better and better. Top notch models and the animations are totally worth repeating. Good story and deeper than a prongame has any reason to be but that's a plus! 11/10 No clear Best Girl, imho. All are hot and well done in the context of you being in charge and on Top.

I bow before You, I can honestly say that this is my no.1 game here on f95 without a single doubt.
+ Great writing! There is plenty of text to read when it is needed but there are also some short dialogues when they are needed aswell!
+ solid art
+ nice girls with various personalities
+ solid amount of choices for VN but it could always use more
+ kind of dirty once in a while (you gotta love Ashley's personality )
but sadly, for me its still not enough xD
+ There isnt a slow corruption system but its not a long one either, i think you've managed to find the right spot there.
+ the...story of the Android is extremely well made and although i dont like androids, it brought a tear to my eye

- earning money is a slow and tidious process, it might be a good idea to add more ways how player can earn money. and if we're talking dirty, how about collecting squirt/piss(/cum) from girls and selling it, maybe with the same way as pictures or selling some of their panties (with or without approval, dirty or clean, doesnt matter).
- some events are not interesting (elf queen, the fuck contest with the slave owners,...) but thats alright, you can't ... satisfy the interests or needs of every player out there.
- no pregnancy (yet?). I will start a fireworks when if Ashley says that she is pregnant

I'd like to see something more dirty or more management, for example expanding the hotel like with nursery (in case you plan on adding pregnancy feature in there) or maybe some free fuck club.

Very good game ! From the start this is one of the few games that bring with each update something fresh ! Its also a very good harem game with very loveable charachters and a gameplay that is fun ! Do ou love harem ? do you love quality games ? you will love this gam e!

This is one of the best Ren'py games with a male protag. Tons of content that covers nearly everything you can imagine. The repeatable scenes and occasional surprises keep me hooked. The game is fairly regularly updated and the creator is relatively active with the fans.

Quality of the game is not the best in the field and the progress with the girls is sometimes rushed but I love this game. I dont know what makes it so good, but I am hooked. All characters are likeable and the environment is just so cozy for me I feel like home. Keep it up and dont rush it we will wait patiently for the next update no matter how long it will take.

This is an updated review based on v0.11 of the game, previous review was for v0.9 and I believed was due an update to fit the format I tend to prefer.

My usual disclaimers when writing reviews on here are that A. I am here for the "plot" not the plot and B. I generally dislike visual novels. So take both of those into consideration for my review when thinking about this game.

Pros

• Sexy-sex – genuinely one of the outright hottest games I’ve played on f95. @Runey is making a porn game here and does not beat around the bush about it. There is tonnes of fucking and it caters to a fucking lot of kinks (a big reason why I love it in particular is how it specifically uses a lot of my all-time faves: harems, impregnation, BDSM, slaves, CNC). I’ve seen a few reviews say this is a story game with erotic elements… TRUST ME, they are WRONG. The writing is generally hot as well and seems designed to dehydrate me.
• Girls – The obvious highlight of HH is how unique and different each girl is. How many of them take a while to warm up to you (and vice versa) but when they do it always feels worthwhile. One of the things I always say in reviews is that a nice story/characters elevates porn games for me if the sex is already good and here the girls are just top tier.
• Content – Genuinely oodles and oodles of content which is updated very regularly.
• Kali best girl – FIGHT ME!
• Grind is fun – I’ve seen and recall a lot of people saying that HH has a lot of unnecessary grind. However, I want to draw a distinction here with HH and other games where I’ve hated the grind (E.g. Lucky’s Paradox/Hero’s Harem Guild). In HH the “grind” usually involves performing actual sex scenes and there is constantly more variations of those being unlocked. Usually no more than twice per scene to unlock the next tier. Basically, it’s just fun to actually play that.

Mehs

• Visuals – The game uses honey select models and honestly if one were to take stills from the game, it’s nothing particularly special. I’ve said before however that this has the upside of getting more/longer content because Runey doesn’t need to design every pixel on every girl’s arse for every frame. It’s a trade-off for more content and frankly that’s a trade I am happy to make. Even with that in mind, the girls are great and super hot.

Cons

• Some character behaviour which is difficult to deal with – There are more than a few examples of very trope-y behaviour (Ashley’s initial extreme possessiveness and clinginess is an oft-cited example) which can be very off putting. In general though these things get worked through and are revealed to be there for a reason.
• Overly melodramatic backstories – Not always the case but at least a good few of the girls have had rather outrageously tragic lives which can kind of ruin the flow of the fun harem romp that the game is otherwise.
• Occasionally difficult to figure out how to trigger specific events – Speaks for itself, the game is now VERY big and is getting a tad unwieldy without some kind of hint system.
• Lack of choice – Arguably the most disappointing aspect. While you are given many "choices" in dialogue, it feels like they never actually have any impact (in the sense that you will always achieve the same outcome of scenes/story). You might lose/gain relationship points with different girls, but that’s nothing in the scheme of things as you can just grind them back up... Just a bit of a shame that there’s no real choice in the direction things will go.
• Direction of updates – As of v0.14 this has been moved from a "meh" to a "negative". I’ll come back to this in the review body.

Harem Hotel was the very first game I felt compelled to leave a review on, in f95. It’s also the only one (thus far) I’ve also felt like updating my review. Since then I have pretty much held HH up as the gold standard for what a porn game should be.

The biggest draws of HH, for me, is that there is already absolutely tonnes in the game. You can probably very happily play for hours and enjoy it the entire time. I’ve also said this before but the actual style of the content is amazing too. The kinks included as well as the writing is fucking hot as hell and designed to suck my soul out through my dick. Add to this some of the outright best girls on the site… Well, you can understand why it’s so popular.

The characters are, for the most part, all actually very fun to interact with and can be pretty interesting in their own right. A couple of overly-tropey characters for sure, but even they can mellow out and become deeper over time (although similarly I find that a few too many of the girls have a "I am 14 and this is deep"-style back-story). Given that I’m here for the fapping though, it's just a bonus.

It is worth saying here: the protag is a bit of a non-entity, but I think that’s deliberate. The draw of the game is that it’s YOUR harem, so you are very clearly supposed to self-insert. This does however mean that often your guy can come across as a bit of a wet-blanket as he doesn’t impose his will that often… But it’s a small quibble.

There is a bit of a grind involved in playing, but I personally felt like it was pretty well disguised in that you are constantly unlocking new actions/scenes. It only felt like I was really grinding stuff on a couple of occasions. Plus, sometimes finding the right time/place to speak to a girl is also a bit of a nuisance, but nothing overboard.

One more consistent whinge I have is the presence of the perks, where girls with certain levels in different can become "cum sluts" or "in love" (for example) but these don't actually seem to offer anything new that the stats themselves don't already do, so they seem a bit superfluous. It would be cool if, perhaps, characters with given perks could have special responses to certain things, or unique scenes, but who knows if that will happen.

So, as of version 0.11 one semi-criticism I had was something that I had previously placed in "meh" but has now been moved into an outright negative.

I said at the time: In the most recent updates, Runey has been favouring longer and more “lore-heavy” scenes. These have included a lot of socio-political aspects (particularly based around having elf slaves) which honestly kind of ruins a lot of the fun for me. It feels like the game is starting to take itself a bit too seriously and thus lose some of its fun momentum. Along with this is the incorporation of a LOT of lore after the fact. It’s not introduced gradually throughout the game but instead sort of late-game in huge chunks. It’s very difficult to slog through, is honestly a bit mind-numbing, and feels like a bit of a lurch in overall tone.

Now, after another 3 updates (as of v0.15.1) I feel confident in saying that not only was I right, but this issue is only getting worse. Unfortunately, I feel like Runey has become somewhat bored with making a light-hearted harem romp where all you do is bang girls and try and get them pregnant. Now every single story arc is becoming related to the elf slave stuff and equal rights and so-on. After about 10 versions of light-hearted fun this genuinely really comes out of nowhere and now it feels like a totally different game. Worse is that they really, REALLY drag on. I think Runey is trying to link all the various plots together so he can build towards an actual conclusion for the game but honestly, so far I'm finding it very difficult to sit through. It no longer focuses on the girls themselves, and that's simply a bad thing.

Overall, I had rated HH as a 5/5 for the longest time and ranked it amongst the S-tier games of the site, but the recent updates have actually somewhat killed my enthusiasm for it. It's still great and I'd recommend it to everyone, but this is now the first time I am not only updating a review but lowering my ranking for it...

I love this game. There's a wide variety of girls each with their own personalities, back stories, kinks, etc, which keeps the grind very well disguised. The ability to upgrade the hotel also helps keeps things interesting as you hunt out all the different bits of content.

It'll tug at the heart strings at a few points whilst still providing plenty of hot, animated, lewd moments. Brilliant.

Came for the "plot", stayed for the plot.
Like many have prevoiusly stated, this game is a work of art. It's probably my favourite adult game.

Some of my personal highlights:
-The lore and worldbuilding (yes you read that right) is simply remarkable and was a positive suprise.
-Many different girls, which feel quite human. (I wonder if the writer based them of real people?)
-Sex scenes are crisp, clear and exciting.
-Wide range of kinks and "proportions".
-Many coices and different areas.
-Active development.
-Game is quite long as well.

I played version 0.8.2 on Android.

While things got off to a bit of a slow burn at the start I can honestly say I was surprised how much I enjoyed getting to know the characters in the game.
There is always something available to do so outside of 2 specific instances I don't think I spent any time grinding or waiting X amount of time for plot to advance in all of my almost 13 hrs playing.

The character designs are well done with enough variation that they dont feel like cardboard cutouts of each other and a surprising amount of thought has been put into potential worldbuilding aspects going forward. Even if some characters (Ashley for me) lean a little too hard into tropes at first it's actually paid off with reasoning and character growth in the future.

The renders were great quality and the animations were smooth, even taking a moment to give a clean shot without text boxes which is a nice addition for mobile. Some of the scenes could have done with one or two more go-between shots to improve the fluidity of it all but it's never too jarring.

The sound design fit well creating a nice relaxed atmosphere to set the mood of the game though the map travel between areas could have been improved slightly by either having transition spots move you instantly or allowing more options from each one as moving about could feel slightly cumbersome towards the latter half of the game.

Overall though a fantastic product and I can see why itthey was rated so highlyI, a 5/5 from me and greatly looking forward to check back in on it in the future to see how it all evolves.

First time playing this (ver 8.2) and WOW it is excellent. Renders are nice (for HS) and the story is amazing.
I should note that I've not been listening to the music so can't provide comment on that.
Really excellent backstory to the main players and some very complex themes being woven into the entire game. The better developed characters have very distinct factors in their backstories which explains much of their motivations as observed by the MC. I simply can't say enough about the quality of the writing in this.
Sex scenes are excellent, frequent and repeatable for the most part. Each character behaves differently for the scenes which adds to the fun. Wide range of accomplishments (traits) which can be unlocked for characters which provides additional depth.
Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun "trainer" game.

Really high quality game with pretty good fit, finish, and polish. It's pretty clear which animations were done early in development, but it's also pretty clear the dev has learned a lot through making this game as the jump in quality after the first third or so of the game. The characters are all unique and memorable, and with the exception of some of the newest characters all have a decent amount of content. Could use a few quality of life changes (the navigation can be a little clunky).

Overall it's a very enjoyable game, I don't think I ever really needed a walkthrough except to get some of the more hidden content.

Really love this game, played the whole thing twice. Really amazing story and backstories of characters really makes sense and you can feel for them.
The visuals style is not what I love but I enjoy it anyways.

Excellent trainer/slave game.

Good Points :
Charcters : design, story, possibilities (you can buy her dress and toys, take them to beach, café, visit her to job or school, etc)
Hotel : you have many pieces, not only enter, bedrooms but kitchen, lundry, bathroom, hot spring and you can build 2nd floor, dungeons for SM, Sanctuary and Bar for raise you money enter.

Bad points :
-The bot face i prefere her with the mask.
-In the sex scene i would like to able to chose speed and other type of action like some games i've played, but it does not hinder the pleasure of the game
-I would like more interactions with secondary characters.

I was originally sceptical to begin with as this is not usually the type of game I'd play. However, I found it to appeal to me with a range of content and a decent story line that does not require the help of walkthroughs. The only thing I could possibly suggest is night scenes/sleep sex.

All I have to say is that this game is one of the best here if you are searching for Harem, slight kink(more than a few other games actually), nice and relaxed story, also coupled with some great animations and pictures

I had to add my stone to the insane monument that became HH.

I remember downloading v0.1.
I remember Ashley reminding me of Toga charming me instantly, and here I am a few years / month later finally rating it.
This game and it's dev inspired me to do my own projects.

If there is one single game out of all the amazing ones I can find onthis website, that I should keep, It's definitly HH.

At first couldn't get into it, seemed kinda like a generic type of porn game with grinding but after playing for a while longer started to really enjoy it, especially that the wacky characters (which there are numerous and each get their own attention in story aswell personal interactions) started to get actual depth and backstory which pretty much is the whole drive of the main storyline. The animations and renders are well done, and each character looks and feels unique. So for me, it was a slow start but after getting the pace going it's a very fun game and i greatly enjoyed it.
