Looking for suggestions and feedback.

Are there any mechanics you think could be improved in Harem Hotel? I want everything to be as fun and enjoyable as possible, and not like a grind. I find training pretty fun though, some might consider that a grind, but I try to make each training option different enough (and also plan on adding more in the far future, instead of just 4 per training option.)

I would ask for opinions on the story, but I think most of you who would reply are already fans of the story and are interested in seeing where it goes next, otherwise you probably wouldn't be here haha. So I'm assuming I've got that nailed down, generally speaking.

A lot of content in the earlier parts of the game is always being remade, but that is quickly coming to an end. I can only think of a handful of things that need to be remade now, in either better visual quality or writing quality. (Be sure to replay in v0.15 and let me know what you think!)

I also want to add more to do in the earlier parts of the game, stuff that is fun. Maybe Ellen content? Or something else? I know there is a problem of people feeling like there is not much to do earlier in the game, and I really want to fix that. What do you guys think?

The only thing I can think of that could bear improvement is the money system. Even with the cash infusion you get, you still run out of money, and then later on, there doesn't seem to be much to do with it past that.

I've added a lot more outfits in v0.15, this should fix any issues for the late game. Some people make the mistake of buying all the outfits first instead of the bar though. I haven't received much complaints from those who buy and upgrade the bar early. Is anyone else having money issues?

So my suggestion is - trust yourself
you are doing great Runey … do what you can and do what you want … your instincts thus far have been excellent and you have traversed numerous tightropes and produced what is easily top 10, and arguably a top5 game while nimbly dodging the land mines.

Much respect to you for asking for feedback though.

edit … maybe find ways to revisit or re-incorporate past work … various 1 time scenes … moon is probably the biggest victim of this but Ashley and Kali have it happen to them as well … Story one times are pretty impossible but things like Ashley morning throatfuck wake-up could be re-incorporated via slight dialogue change & a button/switch to enable it.

iirc … other than the +Jin one-time training event & the one time competition event
Lin gets limited action for her favorite hole in the ACTUAL dungeon.
Thankfully she pretty much gets it most of the other places… but not in the ACTUAL dungeon even though she keeps asking.

The beach, cafe, hot spring, & lobby are missed as well but she isn’t asking MC for that …. YET !!!

Yes, I am. My bank account number is 1234 would you be so kind and.... Oh, you mean in the game and not IRL, no then not.
After buying and upgrading the bar money isn't much of a trouble anymore. In the very beginning it was a little annoying and also you have two options buying things for the girls or upgrading the bar, who would done the latter? I want to do the girls myself a favour and give them all the outfits theyI want.

For other stuff in the game it is difficulty. At the beginning you don't know many person, so you'll be limited. Only things I can think is add some "secondary" things to it like the explorer the city, perhaps calling/playing/whatever with a friend from before you went and inherent the hotel, could make the bath public and eg. so that it is quite popular and the reason why the hotel hasn't gone bankrupt before.

Hmm, not sure how you could deal with what I'm about to suggest, so feel free to ignore it.
In early game (and parts of later game) when you are waiting for new events to happen... the MC doesn't have anything to do... In fact, thinking on it, the MC doesn't seem to do anything for himself that doesn't involve any of the girls (which is understandable considering that the game revolves around sexy times and an amazing story)

Maybe make it so the MC can go out and about, see the local area (chance for more worldbuilding? seeing how other elfs live and deal with their lot in life (don't even need to make models for this, just use darkened blank characters, the nameless faceless people that you see then forget) ... could be used as a means to give the MC some motive/drive, as sometimes it feels that he is just following along with the girls stories, what about his story? what drives him to some of his actions?)

alternatively give the player something to do during these downtimes in story (and after story, while waiting for new updates) could be something simple like a little minigame (that could give potential rewards/unlocks?) or just something that gives the player a sense of something to do (instead of someone) instead of "oh, I need to wait [X] days for [X] event"

Honestly though, besides for that, I think the game is amazing and am always looking forward to a update (and I always start from stratch)

I 'enjoy' not having a lot of money in the game tbh, took me a few 'NEW GAME' to figure things out exactly the way I wanted it though. Would be nice to have shortcuts to all rooms wherever MC is in the hotel but I don't know if it's possible...or nice once it's there.

Maybe give him a change of clothes instead of the girls? There's a reason you're creating and I'm playing, it works.

+1 from me for more Ellen content. Honestly I was surprised at how little content she has considering she is a mainstay character in the hotel. There is a lack of milf content in general in my opinion hahaha. Off the top of my head I can think of Ellen, Ann, and that nameless drunk woman in the bar (who suspiciously looks like one of the teachers but I could be mistaken ). Speaking of the drunk bar lady, she definitely needs more scenes as well!

Also, a minor bug fix that I noticed multiple times: at the end of Android's initiated sex scenes, it seems like her breasts always are at the small size setting even if you had chosen any of the larger sizes? Not sure if it was intentional or not (like maybe they get deflated after she's all tuckered out or something lol).

After playing through the updates I have some thoughts:
SPOILERS FOR EVERYTHING!

I liked the event of Android Friendship 29 BUT I didn't like that Maria submitted to her. This is also in line with how I don't think the dungeon and the sub/dom relationship between the player and the girls are not utilized. I trained Maria to be MY slut, so while the event was fun and hot it took away control from me and what I have done. (I know these games are more novels than games but there is still some control to be respected).

I really enjoyed the reworked scenes (especially the Ashley ones). Emma & Felicity became my number 1 with the new scenes, especially the double anal, the animation and camera was amazing during it. I also really like all the non-event based interactions with everyone. I am hoping we get some more dungeon upgrades in later versions of the game since that is one of the best (for me) part of the game.

Lin's story is no longer her story. It's way too politically focused and missing that personal connection to the player. It's honestly a bit boring compared to all the exciting events in the other's events. Not to mention how risky and stupid it is to have a rebel base and illegal slaves in the hotel. It would only take one health and safety inspection to discover that some things are not legal in the hotel (which hotels have to have). Not to mention they are not even hidden, with Nia wearing her costume during the day even a college kid can easily find them.

I guess this frustration comes from the fact that this is a porn game and I am not interested in elf slavery politics, the potential of android sentience or what is religion. I am more interested in the personal stories of the characters, and interactions between the girls and the MC (we don't go on any event dates with Lin, Ashley, Kali, the twins anymore). Like I really liked Autumns story so far, it's a personal drama with some hint of religion but after the last event, I can see it following the same path as Lin's, with barely any interaction with autumn and mc and focusing more on the drama with the religion and elves.

Thinking about it more and reading back on this thread, I noticed almost all of the new content has barely any NSFW content in it... I guess I'll see what the next update contains but from the looks it will be more SFW events.

I find training pretty fun though

when it comes to the gameplay, training is the n°1 source of entertainment for me and the more extensive and flexible the system is in that regard, the higher the fun. In a previous post I already shared some idea, but those can easily be expanded: since there seems to be aversion toward implementing a slavery system for all girls, a focus on submission would be a blessing. While slaves are forced and coerced into servitude, submissive are actively seeking that and willing to: the more they feel owned, the greater their service and the deeper the connection.
How to translate this into gameplay? well, there are plenty of ways, but I think it would be useful to at least create first some groundwork, such as some generic parameter that helps categorize the "type" of training for each girl (each characters appears to have different issues, and that would make a standardized approach unpractical irl). The first thing that comes to mind is probably separate the programs based on attributes you want the girl to achieve: toughness, endurance, obedience, protocol, sexual prowess, you name it. With a dungeon rich of tools, you could shape each girl into the best version of herself. Every year there could be a competition, similar to the one we already see in the story, but more structured and that offers very high incentives to grind as trainer, that would ultimately determine the Best Trainer in the city/state/world (unique outfits, huge amounts of money, unique tools for the dungeon, access to elite club for recruiting any kind of slave you may desire, etc).

Also, I think that "obedience" should be function of dungeon training, while "submission" should be function of love. That would open up a whole other range of possibilities...

. I would've liked to see more about the internal turmoil in Maria, as at some point it looked like there was a timeskip that has not allowed me to feel entirely satisfied. She is a complex character to handle, exploring more her emotions will pay later on.

For additional non-lewd content; Some more tv shows, magazines/books or other media (snippets) that you can browse, more date content.
Don’t know if this is a difficult mechanic to add but maybe early in the game you do some minor repairs around the hotel. (Change a light and that maybe leads you to see one of the characters in a sexy pose/outfit or replace an outlet so they can later charge some toys.)
Maybe some scenes of the ladies talking on the phone to a friend and you get to overhear what they think of the MC at that moment of the game or learn of some fetish/fantasy they have.

For lewd, I’d like to see more added to the lust system.
Maybe more cam footage that maybe leads into an invite for sex.
More Ellen content especially earlier on would be great, maybe Ellen helping train Lin.
Maybe more masturbation scenes of the ladies in the early game.
Additional choices to the lobby sex scenes and shower, maybe have other characters walk in and watch or participate.

Hope that this is helpful in some way.

Despite the fact that I don't have any idea how it could be implemented either, or if it is even feasible, I want to second this idea.

Even if it was just a random scene when he was on his way to a date with one of the other girls and has to witness what happens when an elf gets caught without their owner in sight. I think it would add a lot to the story if the MC was being driven by more than the treatment of those he cares about. Especially now that he is becoming more aware of how this part of the world functions.

Personally, I haven't been spending a lot of money on outfits except for those required to advance the story. I find that most of my expenditures are tied to buying slaves and then the story seems to cap out there a bit.

Maria can't be trained like this, none of the characters can. You can only make them better at sex, dungeon content, and exhibitionism content. Maria is always going to be a switch.

Lin's story is definitely her story. Are you caught up in v0.14? Actually, I'm not sure what which point anyone could consider her story not her story.

There is no rebel base in the hotel. It is on the property hidden away in the far back. It is also defended by Android who is able to monitor the property 24/7.

Harem Hotel is not, and never was, a porn game. Harem Hotel has always been an Adult Visual Novel. That is, a book with visuals and adult themes. There is certainly an aspect of porn in this game, but that is not the genre I would apply, or the main focus really.

You can still go on dates with all the characters, in fact I recently just overhauled the dating system. The dates will now update as the story goes on and you will get to talk to them about things that recently happened. It's all dynamic, even the location. New story event dates aren't necessary anymore because those types of dates serve a purpose, which is to learn about the character. Later in their stories, you know just about everything about them.

Most story events include the main characters with the player character, but it is important to keep in mind that the player character is not a main character. The spotlight has never been on you, but the people you interact with.

v0.15 includes a ton of NSFW story events and repeatable content.
