I'm on vacation right now, and I do other stuff other than play Harem Hotel. It is not about being obsessed with porn games. I am watching Invincible and can't wait for the release of the next episode as well, I am just an impatient guy when it comes to waiting for stuff, incliding regular stuff, even sitting on a hospital waiting room is not the most enjoyable experience for me. And I am invested in the game for its plot and characters, rather than the porn content anyways. It is not like I'm no lifing the game, it has been almost a week since I started the game from scratch and haven't finished it yet, and when I finish it, I will have other stuff to distract me, and college will start again in march. Thanks for your concern, but although I have my quirks, I'm not at that level of mentally unhealthy. I was able to focus on other concerns enough to wait 1 year for the current release after all.

No, Runey had a lot of shit happen last year, between a death in the family, immigrating half way around the world, dealing with lawyers, and getting sick, IIRC. Typically, there are 3ish a year.

His supporters have started doing alpha testing, though, keep in mind that his test builds are not feature complete, they test things as he finishes them, one event at a time. We only know of one event in there so far.

What I was talking about was more how even those special people don't really hold power to fight things like an entire mafia or something, so it makes me curious about how some of those plots are going to be resolved. The government IA thing (forgot her name) will clearly be resolved by Android, and the slavery issue will probably be a convergence of Android, Maria, Lin, and possibily Autumn and maybe Kali? working together, probably through reformation, or even a revolution. However the mafia thing is still up in the air for me. The only one who could do something against an organization like that would be Android, or maybe Emma and Felicity will be able to reason with their father, but who knows. There is also Kali's father, but for someone so powerful, he is mostly just useless when needed. I'm just trying to look ahead anyways, if the experience I had in the game so far is any indication, I'm sure Runey will give great resolutions to all the plots.

Slavery, yeah, will be a big group effort.
It could be kind of easy to stop the gang, with Kali's help, but she is a bit distracted. But I feel like F&E need to deal with that one. Likely through some kind of reasoning/blackmail with their dad. Also, with Ashley's help, since she is involved in that plot too.

Finished all of 0.18 and I quite liked it. It seems that all stories are starting to converge more and more.

I enjoyed all the events, but specially the date with Kate. I know she is a side girl, but still, it was a cute event. I hope the side girls are all there in the ending, I like all of them, even Vanessa, who I saw some people here be mad about because she was too "preachy" lmao. Apparently being anti-slavery is annoying to some.

I hate cliffhangers, but that is a personal taste of mine, so the events for the twins and Lin weren't bad, I just wished they didn't end where they did. Other than that, solid events that pushed the plot forward. Good to see Jia again, I hope we actually get to help her this time, even though she has finally gone full insane from the torture.

The reveal that the fairies are the ones controlling the human religion was nice. It makes me wonder what is their endgame, other than elven extermination, and why do they want to exterminate the elves, since the forest fairies, the ones that are opressed by the Alosi, don't seem to have contact with the ones posing as cherubs, so it doesn't seem to be a fairy liberation thing, specially considering that the genocide won't even affect the Alosi.

It also makes me wonder about Cornwall, how deep he is in on it, considering I remember someone (I think Maria?) saying that he probably wouldn't want a genocide, otherwise he would go out of a job, yet he seems to be playing right into it. He also has a half-elf daughter and cousin, but he still left them out of the rights he gave to elves, so who really knows what is going on through that head of his? But he does have corndog as his email address, and uses it to send pictures of his half-elf daughter, so maybe he is just some stupid idiot being used and manipulated.

I liked how Kali's event showed that her father was just a delusional nepobaby, so thanks for that, Runey.

On another subject, I was playing with Lain's mod on. I know it is not the recommended, but honestly, the game is too big and I started from scratch. The only problem I seemed to have with it, was that a button appeared at the corner of the screen that sent me to downtown exploration mode if I clicked on it, which I assume is a bug from the mod, but as long as I don't click on it, it was ok. My save showed no signs of corruption.

But anyways. I was looking at the girls stats using the mod, and the relationship stat only goes up to 50. Is that planned, or will Runey expand on it? Because if it is planned, it means there are only 3 more events until Lin's story finishes, but at the end of the final event I played, the dev notes said that the game isn't even close to ending. Which by the way, as much as I love this game, I think it has been going on for a long time now, and it would be nice to finally see a conclusion. I don't know how many people agree or disagree with this position, and this is not an attack against Runey, or the game, because in my personal opinion, the quality of the story hasn't gone down at all, but eventually things have to reach a conclusion.

I was saying that I was checking the mod option to tweak the stats of the girls (I didn't change it as to not fuck up the save, was just checking), and all of them go up only to a max of 50. Which I have no problem with, I like all the main girls, and even all the side girls, they are all quite fun and unique in their own way, even though some are a bit annoying in the beginning, all of them eventually grew on me (mainly Felicity being a bitch in the start, and Autumn with her religion and judging everyone in the hotel did annoy me a bit). But I have seen people complaining about how they can't reject girls, and that they don't like some of them, so not sure how Runey will deal with that.

For Autumn I supose the obvious choice would be Hazel, but right now she annoys me to no end, she would need to go through a big change like Autumn, maybe even a bigger one, in order to become a decent person. I don't know how big of a harem Runey would be willing to go for when it comes to the side girls, but there are some that appear that could be quite interesting. I'm pretty sure Autumn was just a random Barista in the sandbox exploration Corpus Cafe before she became a main girl. And I thought Saint Abby would join in at some point, since there are some exploration events with her.

And the knife situation was pretty wild as well, but the point of Ashley in the beginning was to fill the yandere personality type, so from the start I was expecting some wild shit from her. It surprises me that she didn't do things much more fucked up, but I think if she had gone too far, people would be even more put off by her. Also, after getting to know her story better, it is not excusable, but it becomes more understandable. She never felt loved by anyone in her life, she grew up in a dangerous place, with a father that if she allowed, would probably beat the shit out of her, so it makes sense she would go too far to protect the only person who has ever shown her any kindness.

I think it would be great if players could choose how to react in some situations, specially situations like these. I love this game, but my biggest problem with it is the lack of player agency and the blandness of the MC. Most of the choices the game offers you are just dialogue fluff. There should be options to call out Ashley for her behaviour. I know the main focus of the game is on the girls, but the MC is the players' avatar in this world, and him just being a no personality goes with the flow guy is kinda bland for me, and it is irritating in some situations as well. I wouldn't even ask for much player agency, since I am interested in all the girls anyways, but at least some semblance of personality from MC would be interesting. He could be smart, he could be stupid, he could be strong, he could be angry, calculating, reckless. Anything really. But he feels mostly like a blank sheet of paper. Sometimes he shows some personality or initiative, like when he brings the gun to Lowtown, or when he gets pissed at Cornwal because of what happens to Maria, but it is mostly just a bunch of nothing.

It is specially bad when there is a big problem that needs to be taken care of, but the MC just goes with the flow until the girls just solve everything by themselves. And in some cases that is ok, most of Android's problems he can't do anything about, other than offer her his support, but in some cases it pisses me off, and the biggest case is Felicity and Emma. When they start to catfight for his attention. Sure, giving people time and space to work through their problems and trusting their capacity to do it is a great thing. But this is the type of shit that can break the dynamic of a harem, and saying "I'm going to talk to her", then kissing, or fucking one of the girls behind the other one's back, fueling their jealousy for each other is not really the best way to go about it.

Yandere, one of the only tropes I dislike more than a Type A Tsundere (the violent kind).
While she had few decent role models, the way she shunned her 'real friends', in order to try to impress F&E, also really upset me. Not entirely her fault, but she also doesn't have anyone else to blame, it was her own actions that caused her own pain there. I don't hate her any more, but I will never find her attractive like this (though going back to her natural hair color helps some).

For me it was mostly the follow up knife event with Maria that killed basically any interest in Ashley for me. Went scorched Earth way to damn soon and when we have other ladies with similar figures, maybe not exact, I'd rather spend time with them.

Yeah, that and the cut of the dick threat. That is NOT my kind of crazy. XD

Haven't seen it, so I can't really say if I'd care for her or not. I'm not against crazy in the right story telling context. I'm sure it doesn't help that when I started playing, there were basically only 4 characters and Kali/Maria came out gate swinging hard, personality wise, and Lin is about as balanced proportionally as you could get and has pointy ears and I love me some elves.
