Ren'Py - Harem Hotel [v0.19.1] [Runey]

When I first tried this game, way back when, it was maybe worth three stars. For technical competence, if nothing else. But it was woefully devoid of content, which is an unfortunate fact of games with free roaming (even if this one is only within one building) as they need inordinate amount of content to be worth a damn.

This game is finally approaching the point where it's impossible to call it a bad game, especially within the genre and what it is trying to do.

Bad points? The art is pretty bad, but on the good side the guy clearly knows how to design characters as everyone has a unique silhouette and they are instanly recognizable. Even with the handicap of anime which renders every face same, thus making every player essentially suffer from prosopagnosia.

The good sides, is the frequency of content (finally) and the surprising depths of it at times. Especially Ashley's story actually got surprisingly serious there for a moment, and she actually got a little bit more depth than the crazy Yandere chick that she appears at first glance.

On the other hand, Lin is absolutely adorable the longer the game goes so... yeah.

Do you like basically pointless harem, and corrupting girls to do naughty things? Here you go. The amount of corrupting needed is variable, but tends to be somewhere around "not at all" or "not very high", with few exceptions added in for those who enjoy that sort of thing.

Plus some minor BSDM stuff sprinkled in for taste.

Very happy with what has been achieved thus far,I have had ideas here and there through out the play through that makes me think 'Oh, it would be neat if this happened, or you could do this.' That being said it does feel a bit grindy, HOWEVER, you are running a hotel with or without Ellen's assistance, shouldn't it be a little grindy? Yes, yes it should .
Seriously though the dialogue is good, the stories behind each of the girls are being fleshed out quite nicely, and it's a very enjoyable game that isn't over in 5 minutes. Keep up the good work Runey.

There are a lot of harem builder/corruption games on this site, but if you had to choose just one choose this one. Not only is there a nice variety of ladies, but each one has their own story and personality.

The renders are Honey Select, but done with great care and love. There is not much grind until the late game, although a handful of scenes are locked behind leveling up certain aspects of a character. For the most part the storylines advance by knocking on the girl's door and talking with them. There is a tremendous amount of content as of 0.6, and a lot more is added with each patch.

There isn't a ton of gameplay. No pixel hunt minigames or quicktime events or anything like that. No expenses that you have to pay or lose. You can't anger any of the girls enough that they stab you through the heart with their stabbing knife.

What you have here is the best combination of harem management and visual novel you will find on this site.

I cannot believe I hadn't yet written down a review for this amazing game.

I first approached the game because of the title, then I looked at the preview images and decided to give it a try for some casual Honey Select porn, but Harem Hotel surprised me. I got way more than I expected.
The game has a lot of content to play through, with multiple girls that cover a variety of tastes and personalities. And it's the latter, their personalities, that truly shine in this masterpiece. The author not only has done a good job porn wise, but has also nailed the story aspect of the experience.

This game is not only exciting for the eyes, but is also capable of touching your heart and conveying feelings.
I didn't expect it and I ended up wanting to give one of the girls a hug rather than a dicking.

The game is excellent and the developer too. I joined his discord and he is very active and friendly there, engaging in friendly banter, memeing and listening to feedback and suggestions. His discord community his also very amicable. Aside from the French guy, but he is French after all, duh (you know who you are and you know I'm joking <3).
The author works a lot on the game and cares about the players to the point that he himself has provided in this very thread links to a beta build after a leaked buggy beta build that wasn't supposed to be public had gotten some users into troubles with the game. And he then has tried to solve the issues people had because they played an untrusted buggy version.
Weren't he a porn game developer we could make a request to brand him a Saint probaly.

I'd like to end this review with a few questions: why haven't you played this yet? Who is best girl and why is she Lin?

So first thing first, i am not the biggest fan of games that use Honey Select or other Illusion graphics.

Why do i mention it then? Well just to make sure that everybody understands that this is a great Game and worth a shot even if your not the biggest Fan of the Graphic style!

Yo have to build relationships with the residents of a Hotel that you inherited from your Grandfather. Many of them ssemed the same pretty boring Archetypes you see often in this kind of games. But if you look closer there is more to them that meet's the eye!

So yes the writing is pretty good on this, there is some Grind in it but it is not that big and it is only for Money.
With the money you can buy different outfits for the girls, toys, gifts and so on.

If you like this kind of game just give it a shot, it is definetly worth your time!

Onlything i would like to see is that there should be more Meaningful choices and a little more Managing stuff for the Hotel but who knows what Runey is up too!

5 star rating from me, well written story. diverse characters (both in body types, personalities, and traits)

the atmosphere within each story event makes it so believable. ive gotten lost in each story even due to the dialogue alone. this game is not just about the sex, its a masterpiece for its genre.

Harem Hotel is 5/5 for me. This Game has a wide variety of Characters. Side characters are also relevant because they're a part of a certain characters storyline somehow and is definitely unique. Each Storyline also is not boring and not cliche. Pictures and Animations are also well made. Kudos to you Runey for making such a great game of a game.

Alright, here goes.

Pros:
- Great character diversity + backstories for some
- Good renders
- Huge number of choices available for protagonist
- Nice interactions/random encounters between characters and with MC
- Doesn't feel like the characters are just meatbag drones; fairly lifelike and realistic characters

Cons:
- Need to implement pregnancy possibility (as an ending is fine but if it is possible to continue the storyline, it'd be even better )
- Could deepen the emotional aspect of relationships (not merely physical)

the character itself it's Perfect, one day, i dream about having one of the character on my HS XD overall this game it's enjoy to play, and enjoy to replay!

I started playing HH yesterday, and admittedly I was hesitant at first. It didn't stick out as anything special tbh, I mean there's a lot of harem tagged VN's out there. So what would make it "Special" right?

The first thing that makes it stand out to me is the overall history. You inherit a hotel from a grandfather whom you learn is pretty damn cool actually lol. Also, what I thought would be a simple talk to and screw VN, has turned out to have actual plot & depth being put into each of the hotels residents. Each one has a set of sub-plots that you can discover as you build their affection and other stats. Plus there's the chemistry being put in between some more than others, just like you'd see in a small community.

HH has the potential to effectively be an unlimited open sandbox VN in that the foundation of a world history has actually been put into place already. You are also able to buy things in the game using the currency. It could also effectively be unlimited if the Dev really put some time into it. Right now, you've got a few options, but they've left it open where you could do a lot. Also, you do visit outside of the hotel places, and those could also be turned into fully functioning playable areas if the Dev wished.

This all being said, would I suggest giving it a go? Yeah. I actually would. Be patient, and don't be like me & binge play it lol. You could spend ours in this games world and not actually finish it if you were willing to grind a lot. Otherwise, you do a moderate amount of grinding, but with realistic balance I feel. So for now I give it 4 stars, but I can see giving it 5 if more time and energy is put into developing it as a world setting. Other games could even easily be tied into this one as a base.

Probably the best harem game with management system in existence!

Different types of girls with different personalities that will appeal to anyone, interesting storyline and lore (if you into elfs), some slave and bdsm and of course tons of sexual content that is not that hard to reach if you are in a rush.

This is a well designed and implemented game. Harem Hotel feels well polished which is rare in this category of games.

The graphics and animations are well done.

The gameplay is simple yet works extremely well for this title.

The best part of this game is the characters! They all have unique stories and personalities. This is where the game really shines! You grow to love the girls and get interested in their stories.

The game author (Runey) also visits this forum and is receptive to feedback. Few authors take the time and effort to do this. This is a huge plus to the game.

I was able to complete all the paths of all the girls without the help of a walkthrough (another huge plus).

Harem Hotel also has a large fan base who are quick to help new players to the game.

Overall, I highly recommend that players give this game a try!

This has quickly become one of my favorite games here. The world building, story, writing, and characters are well done. It is a lot of fun to play, and somewhat addictive. Best of all, the dev is a great guy who really listens to his fans, constantly trying to improve the game.

so to start it this will be a full review for android means charakters, gameplay , features , music (if there is) and similar get tackled ... i might also give some objective statements too
lets start!

characters 9/10
the characters ALL have a bit of a real feel, means i could see a person being like e.g. kali in real life ... also the character development works amazingly well in the obvious direction
... poorly a bit few interaction with sidechars wich is just an itch for me and not counting in here

gameplay 10/10
easy point and click gameplay, including optional rollback + skipoptions .... nothing to complain here

features: 9.5/10
here i count the events wich are 95% amazing too me ,some are odd
the dreamscapes wich feel partially not to well as they could be an event or an unlockable instead of just a short "sidedish" wich is not nearly as good written as the canon
the dressups/photoshoots wich are always giving me a wow yet i wish for more
the "spy cam" wich is extremly funny sometimes

music (not rated yet) is not yet there as well as no moans wich to me personally makes it better ,knowing there will be a bit of music soon-ish is exciting though

runey made a great game, and is very supportive about us players as far as i know

my ressume to the game: 28,5/30 (this would be an A in schoolgrades)
the game is extremly fun and addicting,the harem concept feels comedic as well as erotic as all girls tackle their way in the game differently. also that your choices influence feel good, the overall feels a bit dreamy yet the characters are well thought through .... shock moments are as well given as happy moments while the shock ones are much rarer luckily

to me this is so far my unmatched top place game wich i am always waiting for the next update to come

Good but too grindy

Character Design :
I created a lot of HoneySelect characters so I'm usually not amazed by HSmade characters. But here I have to admit it is pretty well done. Especially on the eyes area, a great job on that aspect. All girls are pretty different so you will always find one or two that suits your liking. However they might be sometimes a bit stereotyped like ashley or maria, but well...
Personnaly, I find Kali the most interesting one, because probably the closest to a real girl mind.

Story/Stories :
Rather than a global story that is just a random idea to create some reason for hentai, it is each character story that are interesting in this game. I have seen much better stories of course, but for a kind of management/grinding game, it is already more than the majority of the games. Each character has a pretty nice background story. The evolution of Lin and relationship elf/human is pretty interesting btw.

Sex scenes/renders :
They are good, most of them. They lack a bit of sexyness in my opinion, but well it is HS anyway... hard to do better.
I just regret the absence of throat/belly bulge, for example for ashley who is so thin while the MC cock is supposedly big. But again, hard with HS

The gameplay/content :
Ok here is the main downside, at least for me.
I have reached day 75 and I'm tired of visiting rooms doing the same thing , getting 10 blowjobs so I can get some title that will unlock me some sex scene. I would rather advance and unlock scenes because of an interesting story or an interesting gameplay. Sadly, even if the game has a lot of good points, I can't help but to find it a bit on the boring side, too much grinding, no much reason to keep motivated to get further.
The content seems to be pretty solid tho'

After all, we are just looking here for fake reasons to watch some hentai, but if those fake reasons become true reasons to watch hentai, there goes my 5 stars rating.

However, big up for Runey for the nice job overall, I do not regret having tried that game and I recommand people to give it a try. I will not finish it, but I can understand why some people love this game.

Lovely characters with each a different background. Honey Select characters are beautiful and animations are great. Each character's story is as developed as their sex scenes. Game often updated (once every 1-1.5 month)

Review made at version (0.5.3) The use of Honey Select in this game is top notch, No other game using honey Select I’ve seen has been anywhere near the quality of Harem Hotel. From background settings to character models to animated scenes Harem Hotel is above and beyond it’s competition. The open world(hotel) map is very easy to get around in and it seems every place has a reason for being and something to do. All the girls are very likable in personality and appearance. The story for each girl is very good and if you don’t like a specific girl you don’t have to do their story. This game from Quality, story telling and freedoms has earned its way into my top 3 favorite adult games and I would 10/10 recommend you try it out now!

Only Negatives i have for now are Lucia, Sylvia, & Ellen aren't main girls ;P lmao

I think the strongest point of this game is it's characters. Honey select can be pretty limiting with a lot of people saying all HS characters look the same but this game absolutely proves them wrong with a variety of character designs which, combined with great writing, makes each character feels unique and causes you to actually get invested in them outside of sex (of course the h scenes are great as well).

Mechanically the game is fairly simple, which I consider to be a positive, all scenes can be seen in one playthough and you won't find yourself needing to ask for help every 10 minutes which really helps you pay attention and get somewhat immersed in the story.

The H scenes are varried and theres something for everyone in this game, additionally the outfit options and variable dialogue makes replying scenes actually interesting instead of a grind.

Love this game!
Nice work Runey, I enjoy the game play as it gets you into the action really quickly and keeps you interested with the variety of girls you have to play with and level up.
