*shrug* Last I checked two of my old school friends were in as far as I am aware happy long-term relationships (as in "decade and counting") - obviously I'm not going to start prying into their bedroom chemistries, but the general impression I have is those are in a decent way.
While only too many other relationships I know of, mostly among relatives, have gone titsup one way or another.
When you get down to it it's just a matter of how well the particular personal chemistries involved "click" in the short and long term (which are not the same thing at all).

From what I've seen, both men and women have unrealistic expectations of one another and it's the reason so many people are unhappy and having issues even staying in a relationship.
I see happy loving couples too, however they're in the minority, most I've seen go tits-up, and here I am in an H games comment section, you can probably guess how good my luck is.
I find most people just have unrealistic expectations of everything really. Which isn't anything new of course.

My point was not that I (or men in general) have too high expectations for their relationships. Or that women do. Or both men and women.
My point was that I have never actually observed a girl love a guy the same way I have seen some guys love a girl. In a romantic, wholesome and pure way. The way you actually see men love women in stupid romantic comedies (typically) targeted at a feminine audience or that you see women love men in games such at this one.
It might be because of too high expectations, because of degenerated feminism, because all men are stupid fuckers... I have no idea and I don't care personally. I just wonder, in a scientific fashion, if a relationship such as the one depicted in this game sometime actually happens in the real world (nowaday). Because I have never observed one.
However, I suspect it could be observation bias. I'm a man and most of my friends and colleagues are men.
And yet, I still have to see a woman love a man the same way I have seen some men love a woman... With a warm, almost idiotic and unconditional love.
That's why I was asking this married anon on a piracy-driven internet forum for porn games if he actually thought this kind of relationship never happens in the real world... It would surprise me that someone could imagine this kind of game if such stories could never happen in the real world (even if less idealized).
This happens all the time to guys who are extremely attractive or charismatic and know how to make women fall for them. But it is usually the one-sided love of a woman towards a man she considers amazing. It's really rare for two people to genuinely love each other a lot for longer than a year or two because when it comes to attraction, we can love only someone we consider as better than us. And two people can't both consider the other superior for too long. Eventually one will assume that the other person isn't as amazing as they are. Strong love isn't possible without idealization, but there's also family love - when you care about another person like your family and this is how all those couples who spend their whole lives together peacefully achieve this.

Glad to hear that people are enjoying games like these. I put in the request over two years ago (see here), and wasn't really expecting it to be filled due to its vanilla nature. Vanilla, after all, is interestingly often a couple standard deviations away from the norm found among the games and comics around F95. Anyway, hope y'all are having fun! You're missing the Directx9 driver. Usually games nowadays don't really need them anymore. If you don't know where to find the installer for that, reply to this and I will find the link.
How do you imagine falling in love with a girl you consider below your league? Something like this just isn't going to happen. I've never even heard about someone having a crush on a person they don't consider more attractive than they are or otherwise superior. Usually, people develop a crush on the coolest or hottest person they know. Strong romantic love can exist only if you idealize someone. Here I talk about real love when you think about the other person all the time and basically obsessed with them. Not "yeah, I kind of like them enough to date them, but if they do something stupid, I'll leave them in a moment".
