I'm not going to talk about the UFO...It's hot and dry, so be sure to dehydrate. View attachment 4860515
Did you make us a Rockstar-style map, with climatic effects and a UFO ?
I know. GTA VI is still too far away, so we'll have to make do...
It really depends on how much time I have. Right now, my schedule is 15 hours 7 days a week on the Unreal version. If later down the road, I am making enough money to start building a team and can separate myself from Unreal at times, then yes, I will continue this version. However, if I come back to the VN, there would be a major change. I would be removing the outfit changing system. It's just too many renders per scene and too hard on my PC.so are we gonna get to separate versions of the game? like the a ren'py game and a unreal game? or is ren'py version just getting abandoned for unreal?
You really should join the Patreon and Discord. Not only is there a free membership but it has ALL of the content I post about the game, including level run throughs, and even livestreams on the Discord almost daily. It's hot and dry, so be sure to dehydrate. View attachment 4860515

Definitely not trying to be some kind of know-it-all and jump in on your post when it was not directed to me but just because I keep up with the patreon I thought I would share this:Hi Nuverotic, any news on the redesign ?
Sorry, yea I haven't really come to this site in a while. I've been busting my ass on the Unreal version. I have some news next week I'll be posting here.Hi Nuverotic, any news on the redesign ?
I thought I read “Montreal”... xDSorry, yea I haven't really come to this site in a while. I've been busting my ass on the Unreal version. I have some news next week I'll be posting here.

TLDR: The dev has given up on Unreal version of the game, and is going back to Ren'py. His main GPU (RTX4090) is also busted, so he can't actually render anything for the time being, so he's doing the code instead. Also, once the GPU problem is fixed, the game's renders are going to be reworked.
All in all, the next game update is FAR away.
One word: Ambitious.That is correct.
I tried... I tried like hell to make the Unreal version alone. Shits hard... I got pretty far though so I'm not giving up on it. It's just going on a shelf until I get way better at coding with Unreal Blueprints.
My 4090 is not busted. I thought it was. Something else is wrong with my PC though and it won't boot to windows. As soon as I work out the money, I'm taking it to the shop, hopefully they just need to change some BIOS settings I overlooked. Maybe I cooked the CPU. I don't know.
I am remaking the game but not from scratch. A lot of the code will still be used. Gameplay, environment, story, characters are all the same. The character models on about half of the characters are changing. Not Annika. I'm removing the clothing system as it was just too many renders per scene. You're getting better lighting. Better use of AI. Better branching stories. Play as Carter or Annika. Play moments of other characters as well. You get a few new mini games. Annika works as a Cocktail waitress in town on nights. But overall, you're getting FAR better looking renders, and more engaging gameplay.
And hey, some devs don't even make a post or drop an update for 6 months or more at a time... I stay active working 10-15 hours a day, post every day on Patreon, stay active in the Discord, and I'm still slaving away on the game, so I wouldn't say it's all bad...
Chin up butter cups.
One word: Ambitious.
Seems to me you're far too ambitious for a first project. Just putting it out there.
Not only do you insist on some really advanced graphical quality for your renders (which takes hella time), and a TON of branching potential (which takes hella more time), but you also have a family to take care of.
We will watch your career with great interest, but I remain sceptical about your ability to deliver all your promises in a reasonable amount of time.
Well, good luck. But don't count on massive financial support in that case. I wish it happens, but mind your expectations; telling people that your priority are excellent 4K renders over getting updates out in a timely manner does not build confidence that they will get their money's worth. Not too ambitious. I just don't settle for mediocre.
Also, a "Reasonable amount of time" is subjective. I definitely never intended on this game coming out quick. My priority is quality over speed. And it always will be. I want a great product. Not a lot of quick products.
