There were some posts about possible opacity in the game. I made a very simple mod for myself, so maybe somebody would find it usefull as well.
What are you talking about? Where is an opacity issue? Let me know I can probably fix it. But I don't know what you're talking about.

text background opacity (for dialogues). the "box" hides/blocks the imagery behind it :)

Oh yea, you should have seen the first textbox I made. It was not transparent and took up a 4th of the screen. lol. Obviously people didn't like that so I had to revert to default.

Doesn't pressing H hide the box by default? Or is that something I need to code in myself? I haven't ever checked.

H hides the text box by default (and text), yes. but this isn't the problem. by making an "slider" for the opacity of said box, to make the background more transparent, but the text is still visible on the screen. i don't remember the coding, but there are several examples of this site, as mods. think there are some examples it the dev sub-forum too :)

I'll add it to my ever growing list of things I should do. A slider for that sounds good.

Then go make your own game. Go read the first post on page one and quit complaining. The amount of leeches telling developers how to make their games is wild. Let me guess, you "WOULD HAVE" supported it, but now you won't? lol.
With money? No, but I share valuable feedback for free ;)

I did made a Twine Prototype to test it - and it had more content than maybe 70% of these games that pose as a "first release". The first release is the only time where you dont have any pressure to deliver on time. After that ppl expect constant content updates. That why I have a problem with lightweight initial versions of games. Imho that should be maybe 2-4x or more than what monthly updates will have.

This has missing images, very few actual content and several empty locations and as an intro you could have skipped the whole "sandbox/freeroam" element, because it does not add anything for now. Just stick to a VN part to introduce the characters and setup the first day. Because this isnt more than an intro for now.

Oh and the textbox contains to much text at times - also a serif font isnt that great for this kind of text on a screen. Maybe switch to a sans-serif font like Open Sans or Poppins.

I do like the quite colorful cast and the renders are also solid, but as I said, the freeroam stuff is a big problem, because I dont like to click around to find triggers - or just to do soemething a simple "go to house" link could also do, instead of 3-4 screens to "navigate".

I suppose other users have explained what the problem (for me) was. Sorry for a confussion.
I am simply trying to remove any textbox in games I play (my kink?:p). I do not see any advantages of that box and prefer outlined fonts. Please check my changes - there are only two lines duplicated twice.

Anyway, thanks for a really promissing game.

If you don't like freeroam. There is story mode. If you don't like story mode. Oh well.

I released when I did. I'm glad I did. Only a few of you have complained about a lack of content. I'm not worried about it. It's an early release. Expecting more is ridiculous. You're saying, spend more of my own money and time making the game, without setting up a Patreon, just so people like you can have more content from the beginning at the expense of my money and time. lol. Yea, no thanks.

There is no missing images. There are places you're not supposed to go right now. And the code is bugged where it should be linking to a Future Update image. Don't go there and it won't happen.

This isn't a kinetic visual novel. It is a point and click adventure game in a visual novel style. Having to click things is how this game is supposed to work. I went out of my way to offer a Story mode for those who like the story and images, but didn't want to do the point and click stuff.

You're welcome.

I got an error after entering the house in the evening on the first day.
When I clicke d the stairs it says: Image 'BP_US_EV' not found
You're not supposed to be able to go upstairs. You're supposed to get an image that says "Future Update" but it's bugged or I forgot to hook up the code after I gave the whole games code a complete rewrite last month. There's nothing upstairs for you to see right now you're not missing out.

In the future, The Brooks bedroom is up there, and there's a workout room where you can level up your strength and sneak skills. But that's for a future update.

This looks promising; I'm liking the art and several of the planned tags.
It's going to be a VERY deep game. Just understand it takes a LOT of backend coding so while it seems like a long process, I'm actually working on it 15-18 hours a day 7 days a week. If you have patience, the game is going to be pretty awesome. Not to toot my own horn but there is a LOT of cool stuff coming. Most of it has been coded already, just not in use yet.

ah i see. I was just wanting to make sure if I could be either a dom or sub based on my choices. If that's the case i am happy to play this game and support it to .
Not only is there dom and sub choices in the game, but each character has a dom and sub statistic tied to them. So the more you dominate them in convo, the more submissive they'll become. And vice versa.

For anyone who is still confused at how game dev works and came here to complain about this or that, let me save us both some time...

This is the second release. I am JUST over one month of working on this game, past the initial couple months of writing the story. The game is going to have bugs and it's not going to have all the content yet. This is literally how game development works and we are on 0.03 of the games release.

Also, I am not a team, I am ONE dev. Making my first game.

Sure, I could have made the whole game, over a year or two, making ZERO dollars in the process, hoping I made 2 years worth of money back when I was done while I funded it on my own... And released a working, finished game... That I then give away for free?
Or I could release the demo of my game, and allow a community of people who see the potential to be created. Get feedback during the process so I don't hardcode something that sucks. And make a tiny, smidgen of money in the process, to help feed myself and my kids while I devote ALL my free time to this...

All of you coming here and playing a v0.03 of a game and complaining about a lack of content, bugs, or my artistic direction, blow my mind. I'm giving you my work... For free. Asking nothing in return. And for the most part I understand 99% of you have no idea how game dev works, so I ignore the comments... But man... For the sake of my sanity, and all the other developers you do this shit to, you guys need to learn.
Until VERSION 1.0 of a game releases, you "report" bugs. Not complain about them. You "ask" about the content, not complain it's missing it. And if you don't like something I've chosen to do in my game, you get over it or go make your own game. Also lastly, if you don't like me telling you this, tough titty. This is the way it is. Myself and every other dev of every other game on here read these comments and think the exact same thing.

I mean sure, you can keep complaining. I'm not your mother. But no one is going to take you seriously. And you're just making the devs dislike you. Stop acting self-entitled... We don't owe you anything.

For the rest of you. Thank you for playing the game. Thank you for sticking around through the process. And I hope you all love the product as it grows.
LOL Bro this is the most butthurt and thin skinned crowd you will ever see. You are right about that.

And now I'm not even going to give your game the time of day.

Where are your ads? Where can I see others play your game? Where can I find honest reviews from like-minded peers? Oh, ya, no where. I support more than 40 games. All but one of them I found on THIS website. Why? Because platforms like Steam push shovelware in the Adult Only space bc you have mid sized studios cranking out a demo per week and selling it as a full game. Devs like you, even guys like DPC, Digi, and Ocean, couldn't begin to compete in that space bc you are instantly spammed out. So, you have to gain traction on other platforms, get word of mouth going and maybe, just maybe, you have a shot. That's how this fucking works.

Piece of advice, take the feedback. You don't have to agree with it. You don't have to like it or even listen to it, but it might prevent you from making decisions that chase away potential supporters - much like your response here. No one in their right mind throws money at a product when they don't even understand wtf it is. THAT is the weakness of platforms like Patreon and OF. That's why you see OF models uploading some of their stuff to sites like the Hub. That's also why a significantly higher percentage of people FAIL on those platforms than do on their mainstream counterparts. Frankly, Patreon having a free tier that you can't unsubscribe from is a huge turnoff in itself, so not even that is a viable option to get your game out there.

If YOU don't listen to the feedback, other potential users/customers, such as myself, DO. I don't mind sandbox games, and I'm in the minority, but what I do hate is games that expect you to play whack-a-mole to progress. And guess what people are reporting? So, ya, that was already a knock on your game before I even saw your comment. Seeing another dev crash out bc they can't take valid criticism, that's just a line I won't cross. I won't do it for a project which has hundreds of millions of dollars invested into it, so there is less than zero chance I'd cross it for you.

If this is how you're going to react to criticism of your work that's not even a rough draft yet, how can I trust you to see your project through? You're too emotional and irrational, meaning you're going to burnout sooner or later, whether you succeed or fail. Someone is going to say something mean one day and that's it. Don't bother responding to me bc I won't read it. Idc and that's bc of YOU, not your game, not the valid feedback you've received - it's how you've responded. You need/want our money or else you wouldn't be writing what you did. It's why you released your game and people keep telling you there isn't nearly enough content here to justify it.

I wish you success, but you're burning bridges and have burnt at least one with your bullshit.
