Tamamori came to Tokyo with his sights set on getting accepted to the Imperial University. However, he doesn't pass the entrance exam, and is so undisciplined and wrapped up in endless fantasies that he's kicked out of his boarding house after only two years. Through a stroke of luck, Tamamori begins to live and work at Umebachidou, a used book store. There, he enjoys whiling away his time as a "student preparing for entrance exams" and taking advantage of friends who are also from his hometown. But one right after the other, mysterious deaths befall those friends and, realizing he's been repeating the same rainy three days over and over again, Tamamori finds himself racing throughout Jinbochou to save them.

XD 50/50 mean that there is sex scene as much as story , in my experience it's impossible
the max I saw in a yaoi is 30% of time sex scene and the rest of time normal story

This game seems huge , I just don't want to start playing it to realise some hours later that there is one little sex scene every 2 hours ..

You're an expert here, so , I have no problem with little sex if the story is entertaining enough...
on the other hand, I can live with no story if the sex is entertaining enough

I own the game on steam, and have finished 4/5 routes. (was gonna grab it from this site, but then a friend gifted it to me. Huazzah!)



9/10 For what it is, it's absolutely wonderful. As for what is Hashihime of Old Book Town? It's a novel with BGM and pictures. Strongly reccomend this VN. Unless you just want hot sexy times. Or you actually want gameplay from a VN instead of getting it from actual games that were developed with focus on gameplay.

Pros: A lot of story/lore for you to chew on. There are even helpful pop-ups if you're unclear of the less common japanese terms being used in this VN to further build on your understanding of the setting. Art is beautiful, especially the backgrounds. Characters looked (still look) a little same-y but that's also because of the very consistent style. At no point in the VN will your immersion be broken because a character looks outlandish compared to the rest. BGM is good at building the appropriate tension/atmosphere.

Cons: There is 0 gameplay. 0. Routes are unlocked in sequential order. I.E. Playthrough 1 is for Route 1. NG+ will unlock a choice to go for route 2. NG++ will unlock another choice to go for route 3 etc.

Yup. Hashihime is a story of "We can't be friends". As someone who will probably be single for life and thus really really values friendships this VN is super tragic to me. LET TAMAMORI HAVE FRIENDS. AND ALSO LET HIM DEVELOP INTO A BETTER HUMAN BEING SO HE CAN HAVE MORE FRIENDS/BETTER FRIENDSHIPS WITH HIS FRIENDS.

plot's really interesting and gets you thinking. wouldn't play for the porn alone, it's scarce (1 scene per route) but it is pretty quality. way more CGs compared to an average porn VN. main character's kind of a dipshit but it's part of the story, i had some tolerance for it but he really got on my nerves at times.

there's five routes and for the chronologically last one, i don't recommend it. it kind of ruins the story in my opinion, makes it all feel meaningless.

I somehow downloaded malicious software...I must've downloaded the wrong link (I downloaded from UPLOADHAVEN btw, I don't trust that website now). Now I am going to spend the next 1 hour uninstalling these programs. RIP. I'll try downloading the correct one later.
