Tacked on OF 'guest stars' stuff sucks, stop doing it. People were attracted to the project because of the project itself, not this other stuff. Why even bother making a narrative and character driven game if this is the direction you're going to go. This could have been time and effort spent of more Hazel or Vera scenes, or plot progression.

Hello! The OF guest stars' situation arose for several reasons.

When I first started teasing that Mr. Noto had a brothel, it was to lay the groundwork for story elements, but also to introduce a mechanic I wanted to incorporate.

Not every episode is going to feature a lewd scene with every main character.

Sometimes the characters are still being introduced, as seen in Episode 6, where I introduce Tay and Maki, but they don't have lewd scenes yet since the story hasn't progressed to that point. Or maybe the characters are going through an emotional journey in that episode, where a lewd scene would not be appropriate. Or maybe someone is out of town for some reason. Or perhaps you've been broken up with by the character who would have a lewd scene in that episode.

For whatever reason, narratively, there may not be many lewd scenes in an episode. For that reason, we have the brothel. Instead of wasting character design ideas on fuckable throwaway characters, we thought it would be fun to have guest stars.

Ash, Dani, and I connected through a mutual acquaintance and became friends. We all thought it could be a fun collaboration for the project. They get to be in a porn game, we both get some cross pollination viewer-wise, and I get to have optional fuckable characters when my main cast is busy.

If you don't like that? I understand that. The main cast is who I want you to connect with and who you, as a player, want to be with. But it is also a porn game... and if I don't have a lot of porn, people will stop caring—sad truth of the matter. I also care deeply about the pacing of the story. So, bullrushing to a point where someone has a lewd scene does not work for me. With the start of Episode 6, the episodes now take place over a single week, which means we can no longer jump months ahead, as Hazel yearns for the player.

I'm not sure how many more guests the game will have, as I haven't been looking for anyone else to collaborate with. (This collab started being worked on in February 2024.) But it is something we will consider when we are lacking in porn in an Episode.

That said, we also have side characters we are introducing who are original characters with small stories for the future to substitute the lewd weight when the main characters are busy.

I do take offense to the claim "Tacked on," as this collab has been in the works for over a year. They have a collective 8 lewd scenes that had to be drawn, animated, and written. Tacked on diminishes all the work that was put into this. I don't mind if you don't like it conceptually, but from all the players who have experienced it, they have enjoyed it.

Why is it suddenly a problem for this game that side content is added?
As was already said, this content has been long in the making. it wasn't like it was started after the last update instead of anything else. If you want to speak of how 'honesty is everything', at least inform yourself before spewing bile.

I'm honestly happy you'd take a non-porn update. But you're one player. When I have a porn-lite update, it does not go over well.

Honesty is everything, and people did want to see this and do enjoy seeing it. You may not, which is totally fine. The content is optional. There are like 5 new Jeze lewd scenes and story progression in this update. You are not forced to fuck the guest stars.

I do not think that random characters are better than progressing with the main ones. Like I have said, an episode takes place over a week. I cannot rush through a character's story in a week if it doesn't make sense for it to happen in a single week. The content is being paced to be appropriate to the story and the character arcs.

I do not want to extend the game as much as possible. I actively try to identify areas where I can cut, trim, and refine the story to make it more efficient. I do not want to be in my 40s making Hazelnut Latte. I have many other games and stories to create. I don't need to invent padding for a story that will take 24 episodes to tell efficiently.

The guest stars are fun, optional content you can ignore.

As someone whos a sub for your patreon will admit the OF stuff was kinda cringe for me but completely understandable regardless.

Feel like it could be worth at least getting a consensus on the matter of a chapter with no Lewd scenes however, just a Poll or something would be fine surely everyone isnt so coomer brained they cannot survive without Fap material between updates.

It would be weird if it was JUST Jeze and I wanted the player to be able to hire them and fuck them if they wantd to.

Because again, Jeze is the character with the most lewd scenes in this update. You can ignore the servers. It's a fun, optional feature in a game where I like to give the player a good amount of freedom.

This negative reaction is exclusive to this site. No one on my Patreon or Discord has had any criticism about this. If you're a member, you could have voiced these concerns on Patreon in the past year since I announced this.

But everyone went, "Sounds cool! Can't wait!" If there had been a significant adverse reaction, I would have reconsidered. Like when I changed Hazel's sprite design and everyone went "NO!" and I course corrected due to player feedback.

Well to be fair Radlord, this is the only site where u cannot delete or control what people say it's actually probably the greatest part about this website besides the piracy.. the creator cannot control reviews, or comments and its very anonymous.

I've seen you delete negative comments, negative feedback (not personal insults or toxicity) nobody would question deleting stuff like that ofc, it is not possible for you to delete comments, reviews here unless the moderation team thinks you're derailing or getting off topic.

So yes you doing that has contributed to a community that supports you more and will support your decisions far more than a supporter that just plays the update now and again they are way more engaged.
Plus the people in your discord usually tend to favor even more you since they have felt they like your game enough to join your community.
People feel like they can say the way it truly is if they're more anonymous without any potential blowback.

You can have a 95% approval on a poll you created after an update on your Patreon but as soon as you take a look here, boom, dozens of coomers who never supported you shamelessly criticizing said update.

Well, for that I have a theory: what if, people who like certain product in its current state are willing to pay for it, while people who aren't willing to pay for it are either don't enjoy it in its current state, or like it but disappointed by some developments, or simply cautious of dropping their money on a WIP product after learning the hard way. And as a result, you get these sort of echo-chambers in the supporter communities (Patreon, Discord etc.), consisting from people who love the game (plus, as been mentioned above, these communities are often heavily moderated), while the disappointed users come to voice their opinions on free forums (like this one). Kind of makes sense, don't you think?
Personally, I stopped supporting the western WIP products years ago after learning the hard way (getting attached to the game, drop your money into devs pocket, only for that game to be abandoned/turned into a milking machine later). I am, however, more than willing to spend my money for a completed product (assuming that it's something that I actually enjoyed). This game manages to scratch my niche likings (femboy-romancing date-sim with some fluffy moments), but it also shows some HUGE red flags in its development process, so I'm holding off until I see the final result. Does this means that I'm not allowed to voice my critical opinion on this FREE forum?

So, you frame me as a villain who deletes every negative comment to control the narrative, but if you look at my Patreon and Itch pages, there are negative comments aplenty! (Just scroll down, seriously, this is such an easily fact-checkable claim to dispute.) However, when someone misrepresents the game, and other people see it and say, "Wait, this game does ___?" when it doesn't, it hurts the game.

I feel that it's understandable to remove those comments, especially after I tried talking to this individual and they wouldn't stop lying. Thankfully, it has only happened once.

I feel like my community has done a good job at telling me when I've fucked up and every time they have, I've made adjustments. But yeah, for some reason, the people who aren't investing in the game (and usually haven't played the version they're talking about) are the ones to criticize it the most. Feedback here can be framed in a rather uncharitable manner. The reason I keep coming back is because I sift through the bullshit ragey rhetoric and can sometimes find REAL critizicm hiding under the venom.

Case in point, when my community was completely chill with the Dave/Greg scene in v0.12, but on here, people were not. I took the feedback and made changes that are in v0.13.

The OF thing isn't something I care much about, if the scenes are good that's great, if I don't like it I ignore it. I still think it would be better if the dev focused more on Hazel and Vera instead of adding more characters. And indeed, asking the dev to drop his game for free is crazy.
