Can't imagine what it would accomplish otherwise
The dev had mentioned at some point that he had a shitton of ideas for mini-games, phone stuff and other random side-junk. Considering the dev's relative inexperience (which already led to some very questionable decisions and blatant mistakes), we really have to keep our fingers crossed that it won't end up being a detriment to a game overall.

Is unity still charging devs on per download of their game? It's just strange why they wanted to switch considering they could just do that again.
I just hope this game doesn't fall on the band of all porn games......... Reworked versions one after another that and stupid tier thingy"good version, deluxe version, ultimate version" it's low-key a very good indicator of where those games are gonna go.
Um, we're kind of already there with this engine-changing...

This game is just gay (which I think is on purpose, they are crossdressers, not "trap", they are not cute enough). The CGs are mid, but I could have had a great time if it wasn't for the gender agenda slopfest. A shame, really.

every time I hear a dev shifting away from ren'py it makes me worried that I'm making a terrible mistake developing my game on ren'py lol
Ren'py is a perfectly good visual novel system that offers a relatively intuitive way to design games. Certain devs choose something else because they believe that it offers a wider array of design features. But sometimes Ren'py already has everything you need, and sometimes devs have dreams bigger than what they are actually willing to sit down and make.
Eternally going back to the drawing board has killed more game releases than making something flawed but decent.
There's a reason that "I'm rebuilding the game in another engine" is almost never seen as a good sign on this site.
