I will say the sandbox is not meant to be grindy. There is nothing to spend money on right now. Not to mention, you start with $30,000. We are intentionally designing the sandbox stuff to discourage grinding.
Just because it is a sandbox does not mean you have to grind it.
And this build was just the beginning of implementing these systems, so wait and see before we call for the pitchforks.

Kinda amazing how a game can so successfully create a side-character that so many fans refuse to accept that they weren't supposed to get so attached to them in the first place.
I mean... that's a good thing in terms of successful character design, but a shame because it makes it hard for the developer to stick to their intended plan without roughing so feathers.

You could have just looked at the character card of announced love interests. Dave isn't listed. At all.

I get what you're saying, but as the author, I only intended for Dave to show up once. I don't have anything I want to say with him, so I'd be purely giving him a relationship route, not because I am passionate about writing it but because others want it.
It's not NTR or cheating if you aren't together. If I were to write a Dave route, it would be incredibly short and a game over.
Not to mention, you can skip watching that scene, and I have already said in the next update skipping the scene also skips the silly aftermath.
I apologize that it affected you in that way.

I honestly not a fan of you feeling you need to keep saying your sorry. You have been very clear about your intentions in this thread, and i believe people should be respectful of your vision for your game.
Again this whole discourse is so bizarre. Being upset over the Dave situation is like getting upset at a guy you had a one night stand with some while ago (and thus had no lasting attachment to whatsoever) for banging another guy. If it was Hazel or some other eligible dating option pulling something like this, especially well into a romance route, then the NTR outcries would be warranted. But that's clearly not what happened here.
Can't help but also wonder if it's just because the "NTR" involves the Ugly Bastard trope. If the boss was some handsome late 20's hunk would most of the complaints even exist?

2nd - Dave is just a secondary character
Reasons why people think it is NTR, I will use F95's comments as a basis:
1st - They did not know that Dave was a secondary character, according to Tsubaki Takanashi he/she did not know, I will not use him/her as an example because he/she claims to have been playing for a long time. But if it were a new person who just bought the game, they might not have this perception since Dave is present in the game's menu screen, and because he is a very well written character.
2nd - Greg's appearance: Greg is a fat man who has baldness. His appearance can easily be linked to the hentai character NTR even though his personality was written to be: "a totally adorable idiot".

I don't think you should apologize, at least not for this reason.
In any harem game, it will always be a problem for any character who is not an MC to have a sex scene. In this case, it was much worse because the character, before that, had a relationship with an MC. Even though the game made it clear that it was a spur-of-the-moment thing.
(I don't think it's right for people to come here and say that they felt betrayed by a secondary character.)
However, the comparison with NTR is not illogical. We can both agree that Greg's appearance makes the scene taken out of context resemble that. Dave's fans or just players who don't like this genre thought that was what it was about, and thought: "I'm in danger" or "Dave is in danger."
But instead of saying that they didn't like Greg's appearance and that it gave the illusion (even though it wasn't) that it was NTR, they prefer to accuse you of being a liar, which I believe is an unfair accusation.
Just like the rest of the LIs, Dave's sex life that isn't related to the MC or the harem doesn't interest me. Unless you want to include it as a demotivating element to produce rejection of Dave (I don't think that's the case), talking about his sex life and showing it may have been a mistake.
In my case, I just found it an unnecessary focus on secondary characters. If it were in the past, this would probably have stopped me from buying the game since I don't like to see sex scenes with other characters that aren't related to the MC or the harem, but since I already bought it, I'll just ignore them.
However, it all depends on the point of view, the people in this community always give their honest opinions about your product. They're not always the nicest or the smartest, but they give you a lot of feedback on what they DON'T like about your game.
(Even though some are pretty idiotic, it should still be taken into consideration)
