Some, like me, use unlockers so we can just play the game like we want without needing to worry about missing scenes and watch them anyway. If i like a scene particularly i might even change my playthrough to find a way to get to it.
Also, it's a good way to see how much new stuff is there in an update to check if its worth playing right away or wait for another update.

Was cheating written out completely? or was a not-cheaty version simply added?
Been waiting to dive into this one but might not if it's being vanilla-ifed in that way.

People doing that kinda takes the whole purpose of playing a game out of the equation. Why do I even bother making a game where choices matter and there are different routes to explore when people can just download a thing and get everything?
I really hope it's a small subset of people because otherwise, that would really take the artistic fun out of this.
I think you are mistaken this is a VN, an adult VN under a tab of adult games, if you are making assumptions that's actually on you.
The proof that most people came for a game with a cohesive plot, character development, story development, the artistic side of the visuals and so on are that the most higher rated and popular games will offer you that and not just a collection of scenes to choose from.
You'd rather have people ignore your game instead? Because that's what happened to me for some time, too many games to try out, too many disappointments. Once a game would get to bothersome to unlock every desirable scene i'd often just delete it instead if it didn't have an unlocker to check, to see if it is worth it to go through branches and branches that i don't enjoy to see wether or not there is something enjoyable waiting at the end.
And it doesn't matter that your game seems to be one that is easy to unlock everything, it's just my standard procedure by now when i try a new game, it doesn't change that i TRY to play it to the fullest, to unlock everything but scenes which are completely not my taste.
I don't speak for everyone, i know, but even those who just want to see sexy scenes you make VALUE some of what you do, what might you think about people who actually dislike your game?

Rule number one when you have a product is to focus on your target market not people outside of it, it's too much effort for little return, and that's one of the reasons where a whole bunch on games get lost is dev's trying to cater to everyone's whims instead of being true to their convictions.
Exactly, and someone who is interested in even only a part of the product is part of the target market.
I understand Dev's feelings about how some people potentially don't value every effort that went into the product and every aspect of it, but they DO value the product. That also doesn't mean that Dev should divert from his ideas and plans, no one is calling for that in this case ... just maybe not take it as a negative that some want to see the gallery without unlocking everything through playing.

You really should not be losing hairs over this. Players can and will always find a way. If not an unlocker, they can just get the images from the game files. This isn't on you, its not your problem to worry about or fix. Seriously it isnt.
AAA studios jump through hoops to try and stop players for other more legal reasons but even they cannot stop people from using cheat engine if they want. It's out of your zone of influence.
Anyway I enjoyed the game and play it as intended(mostly). I'm sure plenty others do too. Don't let it get to you.
