I'm having trouble launching the game. It worked fine on v0.5.3, but suddenly it stopped opening. I've updated the game but the issue persists.
So far, I've tried disabling the firewall, updating drivers, and deleting the old save files. There's no error message or crash log and It's only happening with this specific Ren'Py game.

Any idea?

I solved my own problem, it was an access violation error so I just moved the game folder directly to Local Disc (C): and it worked

What is it with these devs sometimes? But at least Hangover Cat is not getting that much backlash on HMHF for doing so. (probably because there are so few players with HMHF that there's too few people to complain)

so about v0.7.6 (MC POV only):

Johnny comes back home from study date with Leslie. Mom returns home very late and Johnny notices her revealing dress and very close pic with Dex.

Next day in school, Dex sits next to Johnny, making the latter uncomfortable. Later that day, Johnny and Leslie decide to go to Johnny's grandma's house to talk. Leslie criticizes Johnny for being too close to his mom and for thinking that Dex is fucking his mom. Pierre decides to invite them all to go to a club, Gavin teases Leslie about it and Leslie rebuffs him.

At home, Johnny learns that Mom moved their Saturday movie night to Friday because Dex is available on that day. Johnny reluctantly agrees to join the movie night and ditch Leslie to avoid a repeat of last time when Dex and mom where alone.

The day after, Johnny breaks the news to a very much annoyed Leslie. In turn, Leslie says that she'll go to the club with Gavin and Pierre instead. Later after school, Dex reassures Johnny that Leslie will cool off after letting off some steam.

On Friday night, Johnny, his mom and Dex are at home. Johnny notices Dex hugging his mom and thinks they are too close. Dex gives Johnny glasses of wine, one after another. After stumbling to the couch and trying to pick a movie to watch, Johnny falls asleep.

When Johnny wakes up, he's still very much drunk, with his vision very impaired and everything is blurry. He tries to go back to his room, only to hear sounds in the kitchen and see his mom by the kitchen entrance. His mom tells him that Dex has gone home. Johnny tries to go to the kitchen to get some water but his mom prevents him, telling him that water doesn't really cure drunkenness. A few moments later, his mom gives him a bottled water to drink.

(In that scene, the player can probably notice that Johnny's mom is giving a handjob to Dex who is just behind the wall, out of Johnny's sight.)

Before going to bed, Johnny tries to get something from his mom's lips but she slaps his hand away. This action startles Johnny because she has never slapped his hand away like that. He tries to kiss his mom good night, but isn't able to do so properly. Johnny gets to his room, disrobes and sleeps.

(Here, the player can probably guess that, the thing on his mom's lips is Dex's pubic hair. Plus his mom tries to avoid the good night kiss from Johnny because she likely gave Dex a quick blowjob before Johnny attempted to touch and kiss her.)

Later that night, Johnny wakes up, goes to the bathroom and vomits into the toilet bowl. As he is going back to his room, he notices that the light in his mom's room is open and takes a peak. Everything is blurry but he hears disjointed sounds. He then feels like throwing up and runs to the bathroom but he vomits just after entering, making a mess and getting vomit on himself. Johnny then says it's been a terrible night.

(The player can also see a very blurry image of what's happening inside the mom's room: on the bed, his mom is on her belly while Dex is thrusting wildly into her.)

some thoughts on the update:
v0.7.6 basically mimics v0.7.3, in that both mom and Leslie had sex. for v0.7.3, mom and Dex likely had sex (possibly under duress with blackmail) w/o Johnny being there, while Leslie and Gavin had sex despite Johnny being there. v0.7.6 flips this around: this time Johnny was there when mom and Dex have sex, and it's highly likely that Leslie is having sex in the club with Gavin.

as for the handjob scene, it would've probably been better if the player cannot see the mom's arm moving while giving Dex a handy. have the wall block the view of her entire arm and just depend on the sounds of the handjob.

plus, this update might feel incomplete since it only gives the MC POV of the final scene w/o his mom's POV. if the next update is gonna be numbered v0.8.0, then that means the other view is already relegated to the v0.X update rather than to a v0.X.y sub-update. (this is just a minor numbering issue.)

in the end, the update is kinda starting to set up how Johnny is "losing" both his mom and Leslie, especially after making some gains with Leslie.

I don't think so, I saw an email from him saying he's working on a fantasy game and another game nts... this author has a restless mind haha
