As expected of a Hangover Cat's game, the story and characters are just getting dumber by the update. The art is godlike as usual but holy fuck do I hate the MC and his mom, they're equally stupid it's insane

I’m in his discord and talk to him daily. The fantasy and NTS aren’t coming until later. For example the NTS will be done by the artist of HMHF and won’t start until HMHF is over.

It was to be expected, man. There comes a time when you get tired of seeing the same thing repeated in other games by the same creator, right? When you start noticing the writing patterns, it becomes predictable, boring, and uninteresting. His best game was "A Promise Best Left Unkept"; the others are just average to below average. At least that's my opinion.
Even A Promise Better Left Unkept is the same level to some extent. I do think Hangover Cat is kind of the fast-food of high quality NTR games (which is kind of self contradictory but it's exactly what I'm trying to convey) and I mean that in the nicest way possible. I love their games and they have some of the best devices, like the calls with the muffled audio, the shadow scenes, and so on
But the writing has always been abysmal or good premises but goes to shit from the second half. Pick one
Is this review by doku99 right? I was eyeing this for mom NTR and usual hangover cat style NTR. But is this review being for real?

They're popular for the reasons we discussed later in the comments after the one you quoted. Insane art, animated too, some good sound designs here and there, mystery NTR (which is finally getting the recognition it deserves), and the plot doesn't NEED to be good. It's infuriatingly bad but because of the whole package I doubt anyone cares about the MC
I agree that the other things are good.
Which is the problem with NTR nowadays. Fans don't care about the plot. You could just speedrun the corruption into 1 day of sex and you'd still be successful.
And MC isn't my problem soecifically. It's that characters constantly act out of character to push the NTR, it's not just MC that does this. Which I just can't stand in a story.
I do agree that mystery NTR should be more popular. It's probably the best use of NTR imo, creating tension and suspense. Though this title is a poor execution of both NTR and mystery. Which it didn't have to be, the beginning premise was good but slowly bad writing decisions destroyed what it could have been
Kind of disagree? I think I get what you're meaning but it's definitely not how I've been seeing things for some games. Take for instance my favorite (and one of the most well known) SAO NTR, the corruption was SLOW. It's hours and hours before sex. Many such games out there, but we just see the "quantity" over the "quality" because F95 is just everything bundled together and there will be people that will prefer getting some of that low quality because it's there
That one I def disagree for the mystery. One think I believe Hangover Cat does really well is the split POV; if you only do the MC POV (which I do for every first saves), it's a GREAT job at using mystery devices, like over a phone call, behind a curtain, behind a wall like in the last update we got. Added with the art, the mystery part in this game is just too great. On the NTR yeah that I can get behind with how detached I feel from the characters lmao

Mystery NTR as a genre has always been a hit or miss, it can never be in between due to how difficult it is to make the MC dumb but grounded enough for the plot to progress on.
It has to do more than that. It has to make MC naive enough to miss what's happening, but also has to be plausible enough that he could reasonably be unaware. But the hardest part is achieving both of those things while actually making it fappable for the player. It's an incredible tightrope. The more you make it fappable, the more retarded the MC tends to become because he has to see more of the NTR for the player's sake while still not figuring it out.
