Does anyone have a guide or set of hints for the Sleuthing quest? I have gotten the medium reward, trying to get the best reward while my brain works as a professional idiot.

Yes sir. Go into the www/save folder. Right-click file1.rpgsave, and use whatever compression software you have (Win-rar, 7zip, etc) and add to "file#.zip (or rar, or 7zip). After that, drag and drop the zip file into a reply here or use the attach files button. Image instructions below.

Oh... that's way more complicated. And if the issue is what I think it is, there's nothing I can do to fix it. I think you past the point of no-return and the side-quest is no longer completable. Are you on chapter 17 or later? If you are, I am so sorry, but if you're playing in a browser there's nothing I can really do.
But this might not be totally unsalvageable, depending on the reason you're playing on a web browser instead of local. If you're concerned about file size, the next update I post here (which is within the week) the file size will be MUCH smaller, due to new encoding.
If that is the case, and/or you can download it from here and play locally, I will make you a save myself so that you can pick up where you left off. Please let me know if that's the route you want to go so I can get you squared away asap!

Okay, that means you somehow lost the hidden quest item. I have no idea how as I'm not the one posting the web versions, so I don't know what they're doing. (I use hidden items to tell the game you're on a quest.)
There's nothing I can do for you right at this moment, but I've put a failsafe in. Once whatever site you're playing the game on updates to the next version (Again, coming out within the week) Entering (Or exiting and entering) Ava's house will retroactively fix... whatever went wrong. Sorry I can't be of more immediate help, but this is the best I can do.

Ah, on that note I have to disappoint. Also coming in the next update is the note that I had to cut the arena due to time constraints. I put out updates for this game every two weeks, which didn't leave a lot of time for side stuff like the arena.
BUT, I'm not scrapping the idea. My next game (for which the demo is public on my subscribestar) will have a fully featured arena due to it's longer monthly schedule.
