Thanks for the reply. Yeah definitely, go at your pace. I just promised my balls that they will not have to sing
too much, so will gladly jump in a bit later on.
You will not stop it, but smothering cashflow of people who put their time into making great content is something they are fully capable of (and already doing quite a lot). Credit card companies dictating what is moral is a joke.
Yeah, it's an issue, but there will always be new websites popping up to replace the ones that got purged. Besides, if covid told us anything, it's that even people whose job was considered relatively secure lost it in the end, like in tourism or catering. Achieving 100% job security isn't possible at the end of the day.
Yeah, Paypal and Mastercard playing holier than thou as to who can purchase what with their service based on "morality" is quite funny. or tragic. Or both.
satiate my curiostity how do you feel about people releasing your games long after completion, im mostly asking because in all honesty ive been thinking "what happens if this dev also goes the way of the hanataka/sixth flowerbed and vanishes forever."
You're talking about the extra scenes version I suppose, since I always release my own games myself for free anyway. Well, that sucks, since most of the worth behind that tier is that it doesn't get released and grows with time, adding more and more scenes behind it.
I won't disappear as long as my finances allow me to keep going, but it kind of baffles me that people enjoy the game enough to invest in it, just to release it for free later and overall hurting my income, thus making sure the quality isn't as high as it could be. I get why releasing the game for free is profitable, that's why I'm happy to do it myself, but I'm pretty sure ignoring early access or higher rewards and making it available for free anyway isn't good for business.
I'm not sure about sixth flowerbed, but Hanataka seemed to have his own issues with the games he was making. After all, he stated in one of his last messages (after being radio silent for months), that "everything about his games sucked except for the sex scenes". I'd say people releasing his games or copying him wasn't the main reason why he disappeared.
As for me, it's been 3 years since I started with the Henteria series, and I still very much like working on whatever I'm making, and look forward to make even better things in the future : )
