So the town events are canon for the main story? Because the moment when the Duke began to catch Rose, when she began to escape from the mansion under disguise and fuck her in town, it's a huge deal.
What I mean by that is, will the events on the map reflect the story and will they be counted/mentioned in the main story? I hope so.

By town events I assume you mean the free roam ones? IE when you check one of your magical orbs and it says "Something is happening at the church." and you enter and find Haylen daydreaming about how she was riding Jazon a few minutes prior? Yes, those are "canon". Every event we see is canon to the story unless we're told otherwise.
Well, the Duke did allow her to leave the manor freely earlier in the game, so it shouldn't be that huge of a deal. Also yes, they are canon. As to whether they will be mentioned in the main storyline is another matter, but they can be seen as having happened at some point within the main story/ side story for Lily and Haylen.
It's safe to assume that virtually everything Rose engages in is due to the Duke allowing it to happen. The duke isn't necessarily trying to control her every step so much as he is trying to influence her thoughts and direct her actions to his benefit. So if Rose decides to leave the manor, sneak off to the slums, work a shift at that dive bar, and turn a few tricks then it's to the duke's benefit because he wouldn't allow it if it wasn't. The duke gives the impression of being a power mad control freak, but he doesn't really seem to care if his guards or other nobles fuck members of his maid harem. It's well within his established personality to let Rose to go out and have fun so long as she doesn't do anything that endangers herself or his power over her.

Enjoyed the update overall, Rose and Cyanna further rationalising their actions is probably a necessary step, all things considered. Still, I was hoping Haylen's portrait would slowly change from her wearing a dowdy habit to an obscene hentai sex-priestess outfit (and yes, broad hips are a must) but maybe that too is something you need to tread carefully around these days.
Eventually, I'd like Haylen to have such an outfit in her full-body portraits. It's just that, this time, I thought it'd be more fitting to have an outfit that reflected what she wore in-game.
As for the hips, I'd ask the artist to change it, but being busy as he is, one commission can take over one month to complete, so I have to prioritize more important work.

If it counts as a new commission then forget it, otherwise time isn't really important. I mean the next Haylen portrait will only come with update 16 or even later. So reworking the hips within one month wouldn't really matter. Time isn't important, it's more about money, how much would it cost to change. That said, while i can't remember what it was before this is the second or third time some detail in the portraits wasn't that spot on. It would be shamelss if he would charge much for small changes he's responsible for in the first place.

I'm planning on doing more side stories for the upcoming update
Money-wise, it's okay. Especially since I pay him in Japanese yen, which went from 1$ = 100 yens all the way up to 150 yens in the span of 1-2 years, so it's a lot cheaper now. Time really is the main concern. He's currently busy doing a rework of Cyanna and Rose's portraits due sometimes this month. Then, I have other stuff to commission after that.

Play the update in which they are given a new portrait, if you are not a sub to the patreon then you'll have to wait for the next update in a couple of weeks or for a leak. When you do have the most recent update then look under the characters tab in the menu.
