Heya ladies and lads, how are you doing in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? I'll keep this one kind of short because I've got work to do, but hopefully you'll find this PoL informative~

So yeah, I've advanced enough with development that I'm quite sure the new update's first release will be out by Thursday. I'm currently working on the 4 freeroams, which will all be some kind of mini-scenes and not just some animation you can randomly stumble upon (there's actually more freeroams, but 2-3 of them are part of Lily's quest, so I'm not counting them). As mentioned in another PoL, there will be 2 for Lily, 1 for Rose, and 1 for Cyanna.

All the gifs above are used in scenes for the upcoming update. Last time I posted gifs, people seemed to appreciate it (as long as I didn't do it too often), but considering it's been over a month , here we are again. The Tavros and Anna-Lisa one is from the extra scene. I don't usually try to promote extra scenes like that, but revenues have dropped, overall bills have increased due to inflation, and since usually less people are interested in side-content, I've decided to make an exception as an incentive for people to pledge or upgrade their pledge.^^ If you don't like it, please let me know.

Another good news is that, after someone suggested it, I've managed to implement a password system to track your dialogue choices for part.1 before starting part.2. That way, an orb in the reminiscence room will generate a password based on your NTR/Revenge/Happy ending choices (the orb is set to appear right after the beach segment) that you will then need to enter when prompted at the beginning of HC3 [part.2] to start with the same values as part.1. That way, they'll remain hidden from you. For those who don't know, the initial plan was to let players type in their own values, which felt pretty immersion-breaking. I believe this is a better solution. Passwords won't be anything complicated, just random short words and HC3/HC2 names to make it easy to remember.

Hadn't played the last few updates, but sat down and played them through to the latest version. I'm once again blown away by N_taii 's talents. I started in the 'cabin in the woods' chapter, and while it was an enlightening jaunt through the backstory of Rose's parents, it was the whole beach chapter that blew me away. The setup seemed so innocent after the weight of Leto's revelations but the scenario soon turned dark, with the predictable but satisfying 'sneaking away' scenes all over the place. It was emotional at times, intense at others, with huge developments for Cyanna and Rose! Not that enthused about the out-of-nowhere Rose-dom scenes, but eh.

I'm actually liking Cyanna's story much more at the moment. I expect this will be the golden peak of her storyline, where she's balancing her girlfriend duties with Ulrod and her brother lusting with Leto, as well as confronting her similarity to Rose's situation and thus her admitted hypocrisy about it, before she too has her 'over the edge' moment like Rose did. It still has this inevitability about it, though; there's no ambiguity that Leto would ever have chosen her over Rose. And in a way, Ulrod had always been her Leto, in the way that Leto was to Rose.

Unfortunately Haylen and Lily's stories had seemingly no development of interest, though I can see at the end of the update that they are due for dedicated questlines next update. Their stories have always felt limp and shallow in comparison to Rose and Cyanna's though. They were never equal competitors for Leto's love compared to Rose, so their stories should be even more focused on corruption, moral decay and shameful hedonism than Rose and Cyanna's. To at least give them something of weight and interest. Like, at least Haylen has a sort of shameful 'fucking a boy my sons age' and 'fucking my sons friend' themes to it.Maybe I'm missing something but Lily still seems to have no relevance and no interesting themes? She is a shameful masochist, is that it? The BDSM plotline from HC2 also completely missed the mark on me too, though. Different strokes for different folks?

Would you be so kind as to advise me other games that you like in addition to those 2 in your sig? ntr is not even the main draw for me, but rather the slowish corruption done well, writing during the scenes and around them, scenes situations are what matter. I also enjoyed Dilmur for example, or Grace of the Labythin Town

And if anyone else had some good advices, I'll gladly take them

Oh, that is super comforting to hear that it won't fundamentally change the game if you do wind up going in that direction! I think that I would be able to live with that as a compromise.

Hey again! I'm sorry it took this long to properly get back to you. I've seen your explanation of what you meant by "pyrrhic victory" ending but i has been deleted, I'm not sure why. Hope it wasn't because I took so long to answer.
I still do remember what you've written though, that it would be about Leto defeating the antagonists but the women remaing unfaithful, and that you believed it could be a variation of the Happy Ending. I see what you mean, but I wouldn't classify it as a "happy" ending, as the heroines are still sleeping around, even if the MC is blissfully unaware of it. It could, however, work as a variation of the NTR ending. It's something I need to think about : )

Lily's race, the ailins, were slaves for centuries, which has shaped their mentality even after they were freed. To this day, they remain meek, unambitious, and satisfied with their condition. Lily's the complete opposite. She wants to make a name for herself and prove that ailins too can achieve great things if they put their hearts to it.

There's also the fact that Lily has worked ever since she was a child, so she's never been able to got to school and learn how to write and read. She's also very self-conscious of the fact that most of those around her are successful in what they do, slowly climbing up the social ladder, while she's still stuck as a barmaid. She feels left behind and wishes to catch up because she's afraid to end up alone.

For all these reasons, she gets lured by Nezar's promise of status and riches as he allows her more responsibilities in his shop in exchange of favors.

At least, that's what I tried to portray in Lily's storyline, but maybe not well enough^^

Thanks for the save! I'll take a look and see what's wrong ; )
Edit: Okay, I think I fixed it. I believe the issue lied with the partial pov. The fix will only apply to the next update though, so if you wanna play in the meanwhile, I suggest starting again at the end of the previous update with the omni PoV on. You need to see Cyanna and Ulrod's scene which happen before for it to work. Or maybe simply watching in the reminiscence room might fix it too.

So I think I managed to correctly capture the background of Lily's story. I apologize if I was a little derogatory about the background of the other protagonists' stories. I know they have their own reasons and circumstances, but sometimes, for who they are and for being in the position they are, they screw up so much that it becomes tiresome. But hey, as our beloved Shakespeare said in Record of Ragnarok, "Filth is beauty, beauty is filth, they, like us, are only human." XD I slightly modified the last line to refer to the girls instead of Jack, but you all understand me, or at least those who watched the series XD

Btw, I noticed Leto doubled, attaching the save. Similar thing happened to Lily somewhere else.


Edit: I think the save is broken alright (I started update 18 with the save from update 16). After the mushroom munched the condom, Leto came back to the beach, Quest 26 updated, and Haylen/Jason dialog triggered automatically. After that, the game threw me back in to the sea, unable to step on to the beach surface, apparently no way to do anything at this point.

Cyanna, at least, isn't just gonna fuck any guy. She'd be more likely to kill him if he tried anything than to fuck him. Could be done, but she's not getting anything out of it like with the pirates, and has no connection with him like with Ulrod
There's a scene with Rose getting felt up by him, though, if you check the orbs in Leto's room and find Rose in the Tavern

I think that would be good, it would add the feeling of being left out. The whole town can have sex with your women but you can't. thats a specially hard type of ntr.

But... might I ask why are you calling this a game and not a kinetic visual novel? Because you can walk around? Because it's made in RPGM?
