HC2: At some point in the game, I find myself without gold and with all my addictions at high levels, so I can't win any battles. What should I do in these cases? Resting doesn't help at all (except for HP and stamina, and lowering lust).

You're meant to have a harder time, as the days pass (so you inevitably will get a run end at some point).
Afterwards, you do the Meta unlocks via the Perk Tree you access at the beginning of each run, to make future runs stronger and go for longer.

As general strat in-run:
- when you start the run, try to normaly only go for the Areas you can decently beat without taking too many turns doing so (if you take too many turns in a fight, you might temporarily get a bit more gold and/or loot, but you'll also rack up addiction at a fast rate).
- Always do encounters in multiples of 3 (each 3rd exploration nets you a Potion from the alchemy lab), preferably 6 per day (meaning 4 fights, 2 labs).
- Visit the City once every 3 days (I think that's how it was) at a minimum, when the Recipe shop opens (it only opens once every X days, I think it was 3), to peruse the wares
- Also whenever you visit the city, don't forget to go to the Inn to do the daily Job, it's extremely easy generally (choose the Addiction you have the lowest in), and nets you decent gold for minimum Lust increase)
- Also also, regarding using the Church to ease addiction, try to use it earlier rather than later (attempting to keep addictions low, but not using the money if you're not already having a decent weapon and accessory already equipped), since prices increase proportional with the Day number

Just lose and start a new run. Ideally lose to an enemy that you haven't seen the bad end for yet so you can permanently unlock its gallery view for purchase.

There are ways to dig yourself out but they're slow. If your corruption isn't too high yet and you have decent Con (I'd recommend 20+), then you can do inn jobs to get enough gold to clear corruption and the worst addictions. This can backfire and just wreck you though.

You can also clear Forest and Plains enemies for easy wins to try to farm blue potions to clear addictions. This will pay effectively nothing though. Even weak enemies can deal a lot of lust damage if your corruption and addictions are high, so be careful with that. I'd recommend Forest over Plains just because of Natasha.

My main tip is to always skip the first two days and go straight to the city to buy the map where the boss is a meditating girl. Think its Victoria in Swamp but don't quote me. If you just "wait"-skip through her you will clear her and instantly gain 5-7 levels for free and a good amount of starting gold. Then you're usually strong enough to kill the lower tier bosses.

Main tip 2. If you want money to reduce addictions you need to work in the tavern. Sometimes I only work the tavern a day just to get back money without fighting anyone.
