You get rewards at a shop for having kids and the girls have a pregnancy bar that fills up everytime you shag them, so it's definitely a somewhat central mechanic, but the game doesn't overtly focus on pregnancy. The scenes are kinda simple to begin with, and the preg ones mostly seem to be variants at best from what I've seen.
I know lifting up your eyes to read the reply a couple messages above yours may be a Herculean task...

You have to spend a bit first (aka buy armor -- there were text indicating this IIRC).
Can just interact w/ the crystals, select memory room & unlock it w/ the signpost.
Where are you getting that error at? Played most of it -- on the normal[0 tol] difficulty -- & haven't encountered it.
i got it a lot if i tried to do things twice back to back with the girls or one time i noticed it was every time was when in the first town you go find the shop keepers daughter in the forest of the first city then when you come back she takes you to the bed to "thank you". It plays the scene then locks up with the picture on the screen and you cant do anything or it throws that error.
i had this issue and i had used a save from when i tried to play with out knowing there was a nsfw patch. i started a new game after installing the patch and ive had no issues since then so far.
Yeah, no point in not starting over if you use that -- since that'd let you breeze thro the game & can basically get all the sex scenes as you unlock areas.
