Ren'Py - Hero Party Must Fall [v0.5.6 Test 2] [Nitrolith]

I am at odds if i want to enjoy this game or not. Some content is good (Mostly Cecille. She is by far the most interesting character).
But then on the other side, its marred with bad mechanics and old art. Like some of the art is good, and i like 2d art drawn with such care, but then that's only a small part of the game. Otherwise its really bad.

My biggest complaint, which is actually the major reason why i reduced 2 stars is Vi. Even after playing for so long, i cant comprehend her need in the game. I have a big problem with MC starting with a romantic partner, but here it goes further with her being so irritating and having that kid like body.
i dont care what creature she is, i absolutely detest such body types in porn games.
But even with my personal tastes aside, what's really her need in the story. Like if the MC needs an assistant, that very well could have been anything else, like some spirit.
Anyways enough ranting about "That" thing, this game needs a rework, possibly improving on art and mechanics and absolutely remove Vi.

Just out of principle I hesitate to say 10/10, but for this game I want to.
Despite only being version 0.4.x implying it's far from complete, there's plenty of content to get your rocks off, there's a good bunch of hours and this game isn't stingy with sex scenes, you get at least one every in-game day.

I can't wait to see how awesome this game's gonna be once it's complete.

I tried to play this game a few times, and each time I had to stop. The obvious positive of the game is the art. I'm willing to bet it's what draws most people to it, and for good reason. It looks great. The gameplay needs work, but most reviewers already pointed that out. Having said that, I do think there are better pixel art games on this site (which I'm not allowed to name).

Now for the writing. I will preface this by saying that I know the characters don't stay 100% the same in the story, however, they still have their baseline archetypes that I will discuss. I'm increasingly becoming less and less tolerant of games that have "anime" or the honey-select style. The reason is that I noticed that a lot of games that have this art style use generic anime characters.

I keep seeing the same praise lobbed at these types of MC's. "OMG the MC is not a nice guy! It's so cool seeing an MC be tough for once!", etc etc etc. Meanwhile, every other anime-style game has this archetype of MC. It's not new at all. In fact, at this point, I'd say making an MC aggressively nice would be a breath of fresh air compared to all the "awesome cool cold steel the hedgeheg" style MC's I keep seeing in anime games.

Now I know what you're probably thinking. "It's a corruption game you idiot, The MC isn't supposed to be nice." I understand that, but that doesn't mean that the MC should therefore be a cardboard cutout of every other kind of corruption MC (especially ones with the anime aesthetic). In fact, I'd think it would be even more interesting if a game was made that could somehow make an MC try his hardest to be a nice person even though his actions cause corruption, but he was too psychopathic to understand. That's the opposite of what we get in this game and those like it.

I keep thinking of all the cringey anime I used to watch as a twelve-year-old and how "cool and dark" the characters were. Not to mention the copy-paste priestess character, the copy-paste fighter, etc.

I don't hate this game (In fact I wish the author luck going forward), but I do think it's overrated.

Goated dev. The game is very straightforward, the writing is solid and the art/scenes are good. The characters do follow certain tropes but that is to be expected in an NTR corruption game. The dev is very active in their discord and responds to a lot of feedback and explains their gaps between updates. This is a dev and game worth backing

Very immersive writing. Characters that you love to hate. A great read.

I have to write at least 200 characters, so I'll just add that while some gameplay elements are unfinished, the character development of the main cast was the main attraction. Some elements are under development and are somewhat indicated, but it can be slightly confusing.

Best VN I've read in a while. Dialogue is great and non repetitive, by that I mean the phrase "That's rough" is not overused, like in a LOT of other games. Music is also really good, let's you know when something horrible or devious is going to happen. All characters are very lovable, Cecille is an interesting character exactly like the MC says, Sera is adorable and really sad and Elena is just a big silly dumb. Overall I absolutely love this game and recommend it everyone.

would be 5 stars easily if a lot of the scenes werent interactive mini games. theyre still pretty hot but id much prefer if each new position had its own scene first

Best written Netori/corruption game and evn I've ever played.
Sex and battle minigames are meh, but they're still in alpha and mb will come out pretty good, but I'd rather nitrolith concentrated solely on story and writing. Also Sera is the best girl, fuck Cecille.

I happily lost a lot of time in this hot as fuck grindfest of a beefy demo.

There's an insane amount of equally insane scenes in this if you're willing to put the time in. Seriously some of the scenes in here will appeal greatly to the kinkier of you out there.

I cannot wait for this game to be completed fully so I can do it all again.

The writing is good - which is really important cause there's a lot of it.

The Hero is a spoiled little shithead and it feels absolutely fine to cuck the little prick to kingdom come as you corrupt the priestess and fighter girl to levels I've only seen rivalled in Insight of You. VERY COMPLETE CORRUPTION that keeps on giving.

great game. 5/5. really unique content for an h-game and probably my favorite game of the year. theres a lot of ntr games but rarely do you see games in which the main character is not being cucked, which is definitely a turn-off. wish there were more games like this outside of rance.

Simply exquisite NTR wher you FINALLY get to play as the bull! The girls you seduce are hot, the scenes are hot, the mixture of emotional and sexual cruelties you put them through is toe-curling.

Only con I can think of is 2-4 months between updates, but when the updates to come out you can't help but be excited, and they're rarely -- if ever -- disappointing, providing more opportunities to cuck the little femboy hero.

10/10 design, 9/10 execution (missed 10/10 bcuz of long update times)

Best. Corruption. Game. Ever. That scene with kiss promise is literally peak.

Characters actually feel like characters. Dynamics are unique and fresh. The protagonist is more than meets the eye at the first glance.

By the extremely poor writing standards of western eroges, this dev is like a goddess sitting far above in capability and skill. She really knows what she's doing writing-wise. This is by far, one of the best-written games here. Not an exaggeration, this game is several steps higher than the highest rated games on the site.

The gameplay is pointless and terrible and I hate that she's wasting time developing these unfun and useless systems. I understand a lot of it is undone but the story is obviously what everyone's here for, adding a bit of clicking does nothing for the experience.

Best 2d renpy game I ever played. There are issues of lack of work in the minigames and bugs but it could be solved in the later updates, the story is attractive and shocking comparing with other renpy games that I played.

This is by far one of the most compelling relationships I've ever had the chance to witness in a game, the writing is absolutely excellent. Its a Corruption/Romance story at heart, and it absolutely excels in delivering it.

The sex minigame is fun, and stimulating but it wouldn't be anywhere near as pivotal if the magical after care talk wasn't a part of it, and how slowly and deeply the bond develops is truly a sign to witness.
I didn't pay much heed to the "dungeon" play part of the game, but the real star is the talks between MC and Girls, especially , my favorite priestess from now on, Cecille.

One of the best games on the site.
Peak NTR (netori) content and a lot of optional scenes.

You play as the person stealing away women. It's your loss truly if you don't play this game. Early game progression may seem a bit like a turn off but you're rewarded heavily for the improved visuals and story. Story is consistently great.

Some flaws is you can tell when Nitrolith attempted to rush through some scenes or content due to how unnatural some things are or the progression. A few bugs and several unfinished pieces of content but the dev does a great job of letting the player be informed of these issues.

Just wanted to tell you that you have a really well developed writing style, dude. I lucked out finding this gem. Your preferences and views for Mars as an MC are a breath of fresh air. Too often developers of these games lean too heavily either into the incel perverted dork who's never talked to a woman irl before, or some wimpy goody twoshoes who can't do wrong for the life of him. You put a lot of nuance and complexity into the characterization of Mars and Cecille in particular, but every character has been strongly written so far, especially for an H Game.

You also somehow managed to not make the MC a straight gooberish dickbag. He's a charming level of asshole. Hard balance to strike. And I also appreciate the fact that you have a similar taste for your rough scenes that most games struggle with. Your art is well done for the pixelated art style and you convey movement of the flesh really fantastically. Props, dude. Can't wait to see the finished product and whatever else you make down the line. You scratched a niche and just so happened to check off every preference I have for these types of games.

A well deserved 5 stars, homie.
