this ai stuff is a legit litmus test for mental midgets.

"hey, my calculator made the same exact same solution! you used a calculator!"
"hey, my chat bot said a sentence which is like your sentence! you used gpt!"
"hey, this program that copied your art and the art of every other artist made something similar to you! you used ai to make that"

we'll have the mirror test for children and then the ai test for adults. the textures, lines, color, and background don't have any of the usual ai artifacts and have clearly had an artist hand on them. so, here's the question: did nitrolith forget how to draw and make no improvements to his art/skill over the the course of the last 4 years of making this game and instead become an expert on ai who can make better images than 99.9999% of people mimicking his art style and improving it?

if he did then where's the 1000% increase of images? ai art lets you put out 500 images in a day. did he spend all that time and energy learning ai art so he could make the same amount of images he previously did? which are merely copying what he already did before ai art was a thing?

logically, no. at most you'd say he's using some filter/tool that comes with photoshop/whatever program that's ai powered and turns images into more stylized pixel art, which have existed for over a decade, and are just used for backgrounds. even that is iffy though cause there's backgrounds dated from 2021 which are pretty similar to the stuff he's done in 2025.

I think there are a couple images that are for AI generated just based on weird art decisions, for example in certain scenes some girls have too many toes. Though I think some of the confusion with AI art also comes from the fact that nitroliths art style has also changed/developed over the course of the games development.

no there isn't "scenes" of girls having too many toes. there was one image that people who failed to properly look at the image itself said so and when i pointed how they're wrong they dipped out of the thread. now you're here acting like that one image which you're wrong about is "many"

it's not ai. the white/clear liquids/cum cover and blur the lines which might make it seem off at first glance but it's drawn very nicely. your low resolution image also makes it harder to clearly see.

Getting the Erin love ending to then time skip into him having his 150th+ assassination attempt on me and hating me was a little jarring to say the least, do hope branching time skips do get resolved relatively quickly, decent update overall though, enjoyed it.

As a minor form of addressal, this is on purpose. Post-timeskip lovey-dovey Erin pretends he hates Mars in public and is trying to get assassinnation attempts on him or whatever, but on private he's over him. The idea seemingly is to trick Cecille. Basically, Erin would be cucking Cecille. We just don't have any of the in-private moments because he update doesn't really include character-stuff, only the demon hunters thingy

To be fair to both sides, there's been unused images left in the folders that looked very, very AI. I've asked Nitrolith if they use AI at any point in the process and their answer was no. I don't feel any need to pry further.

Fundamentally, "AI or not" debate above kind of misses the point: is Nitrolith creating good and original art? The problem with AI art is that it's painfully generic, the specific scene, gesture, position etc that really make porn art is missing.

Let's take an example of an artist who has (iirc) admitted to using AI filters: Milda Sento. Yeah, it their art now has that glossy look AI is (in)famous for. But I do actually think there's now a bit more visual depth. Fundamentally, it hasn't stopped them from producing exciting new scenes, animation and characters.

As you noted, the problem with AI isn't necessarily that one individual image but how sites become swamped with 500 poor quality images that the person generating them don't have the effort or ability to even give a basic touch-up. Same as the plague of AI-translations by people who speak neither Japanese nor English.

For all I know, Nitrolith could have just generated ai art as base templates for the images then draw over them with their own artstyle that includes the nitrolith quirks and details we've come to know. Hell, he could've even fed his own art to an AI lmao.

I mean, canonically he's naturally light skinned with a tan.
The newer art often portrays him as having darker skin than Sera for some reason though.
