he probably means major updates which take time after his progressive updates that add a bit at a time, but it makes sense. The game's story is close to reaching it's natural conclusion since before this update Mars had already practically won. But after winning it's a matter of securing his survival. Because to fuck with the Hero's quest means pissing off the Goddess, who already wiped the world once or twice before.

If you're playing from a save from the previous update, you should start again from part 3 (i.e. when Mars is demon king)

I believe it's when you choose/try to break Erin through Elena.

how to select ending?

Keep playing, you'll reach a point in the game where you can have training events with both Cecille and Sera. Cecille waits for you in front of the bedrooms like usual while you encounter Sera outside in the training ground. You'd have already taken Cecille's virginity while you'd take Sera's virginity (if you pick her route). Before this, you could take her virginity without all of this but there were no specific routes then.

If you want to do Elena's route, keep progressing her events at night (from your bedroom), and you'll eventually get it.
