I wouldn't even say the problem is the number of frames but more how they're used. Plenty of old flash games managed to have a pretty "hot" animation using very few frames. Lately it feels even the high budget projects can't seem to get it right.Really just depends on the scenes and animation but honestly a lot of artists anymore are kinda just pumping out updates quickly and the writing is meh and the animations look terrible or isn't even an animation just two frames going back and forth lol may not be the case with the update but we will see
In sum, the talent and creativity of the artist are more important than the number of frames itself.
