SAO 1/2 are actually very linear. Wake up, do the task that Kirito reminds you (himself) that he has to do, go through the events until the day ends and repeat. The moments where you have any open world exist purely for optional scenes and tidbits of extra information. 1 rewarded a little bit of investigation and exploration more than 2, I'd say. But there's still parts in both, especially the recent updates to 2.

As for comms scenes? I'd say there's splashes of it through the SAO games, but it's a rare technique used to show off scenes as opposed to being the framework of your interaction with the girl, like how Raiohgar/Solgante does it.

Awful unchangable controls that require two hands, 90% of it is a shitty zombie killer grind with the standard "I tried to use fucking RPGM to make a real time combat system" Not worth it. Also no direction. I spent like 30 minutes going through most the areas and it is just zombies, I don't even know how to trigger the first event.

Well, it's not that the current version has any substantial amount of content to use the free hand for. Even with 2 chapters released, it feels more like a demo. There is no buildup whatsoever, nor it has any scenes to release the tension with. The narration is funny though, I could give it that.

I mean, if someone is really into the "NTR via comms" thing then, sure, they could imagine all sorts of things. But, IMO, since there have already been relatively successful titles that married the comms AND the behind-the-scenes perspectives (ofc, I'm talking mostly about Gaptax), the dev should make up for that in the upcoming chapters. Or else?.. Or else it's going to be a niche product.

Been a longtime lurker but I've yet to see any conversation regarding a game in development that I think deserves at least some attention: Zost City (or as my Mtool seems to like to call it: City of the Dead - Fall into the Shadow of Desire).

In the simplest terms I would describe it as a Nebel-like but you're instead surviving a zombie apocalypse instead of hunting ghosts (No you're not NTR-ed by zombies lol). The story is decently interesting from what's been implemented so far and what I've been able to piece together with MTool Engrish. The scenes are pretty hot imo even if CGs are usually reserved for recollection - especially the more classic hidden ones such as discretely giving head under a desk. Big disclaimer that the game uses AI art and that alone made me hesitant to post about it because of how controversial it is but I think this game has the potential to shine in spite of that. I'm not sure if it'll be in GOAT territory by the time it's done since I think Fujino's formula works better than BBQ's did for Nebel but it's certainly good eats in my book. I will say that my biggest gripe is that the game is basically impossible to play with one hand and I needed to use my keyboard's software to rebind keys to make it possible. I asked the dev about it but was told they're worried that adding rebind functionality would allegedly make their already unstable combination of RPGMaker plugins even more unstable so it's not currently a priority. That and ironically the best way to avoid NTR without cheats is to avoid your girlfriend early on lol.

This is my first post so I can't share any links but the creator goes by 姜華 on Ci-en and you can use ygReCMsQ7a to join their Discord. Their Ci-en has multiple download links to the latest public version on the pinned post for followers but there's more updated versions that are paywalled.

I'm hoping the slower traffic of this thread compared to the main one gets more eyes - particularly the eyes here that would be most interested imo - on this and maybe if there's enough traction then maybe someone or myself can make a thread for the game to then share on the main NTR thread. I'm not too familiar with how this stuff works since, as I mentioned earlier, I pretty much lurk and download so I wanted to just start with a post. Maya's Mission is the latest and greatest in the Comms genre, super high quality.

As for SAO it isn't really open world in playstyle it just has a big map. The phone will always tell you where to go and where she is, honestly the only missable stuff really is when she gets quarantined and you have to remember to check the security cameras between every break when you are at work.

Nebel Geisterjäger also has some good comms like stuff. It is a mix of heartrate monitor, phone calls, and security footage. Not exactly comms but close enough. I would also recommend anything from Kegani Laboratory, again not exactly comms but in real time girl status updates is something widespread in those games. They are grindy as fuck though so use cheatengine to cheat your ass off.

Maya's mission doesn't really feel like neither NTR nor hidden imo, MC is very much aware of what is going on and he himself is getting laid while it's going on. Same vein as the creator's previous game it's more of a voyeur focus

In the first chapter it very much was pure hidden NTR. It has moved more towards voyeurism as the game has progressed though. Still comms first and foremost but it is losing the hidden aspects, not completely gone yet but lessening with each update.

These are quality in general but they all show too much too fast. Most of them hide stuff from the character in the video but don't actually hide anything from the viewer which is the whole point. At best they hide at the start but then reveal before the action actually begins.
