Another game that will end up abandoned or will have a rushed ending.

We have already seen this kind of symptom among several light novel creators, to believe that there is even a curse, there are signs when the game will end up abandoned, have increasingly poor updates or a rushed ending:

Depression
(I thought the creators of LN were passionate above all)
burning house
(grandpa forgot the gas again)
Flooding in the house
(next time I will put a roof on my house)
Deaths in the family
(my father died 3 times I'm not lying)
Health problem
(I don't understand, I always take my radiation bowl in the morning for calcium)
Medical treatment
(I don't understand why I'm not getting better, I'm taking my diarrhea medication to take care of my heart)
I just had my 30th child.
(You can't have a family life and create this kind of game, porn actors with a family don't exist)
My $4000 PC no longer works
(Windows XP with a Pentium 2 doesn't do any better, I had just bought it)
Remastered
(I'm not satisfied with the first episodes so I'm doing a remastered which breaks the whole game in the end)

Honestly, we should have fun reciting all the excuses we hear, because I forget a lot of them.

The previous quote is: "Everyone on Discord knows how much this guy loves his game"

Doesn't sound like it...from his own words.

I no longer enjoy making Hillside and haven't done for a long time.
Uh, thats not at all what he said. DB said "I no longer enjoy making..." He doesn't enjoy the process of creating the game anymore, which does not mean he no longer loves the game.

I do hope he takes the time he needs and gets the spark and enjoyment back. This is one of my favorite AVNs.

all this abandoned talk just got me thinking who cares as it isn't abandoned as of right now. How I see it sure the post is worrisome but too early to actually worry if it will or will not be abandoned. Besides the dev still loves the game that's a good sign in my book as to me that says this dev will do everything in their power to finish it. I'm sure plenty of devs hate the process of creating a game would be way worse if DB didn't like or love the game he is creating imo.

these shitty games are, by and large, made by weak people. that's it.

Just now
Hi, guys.
I'm about to start preparing the files and uploading them, but it usually takes a couple of hours to complete (3 different versions to 2 different file hosts).
Apologies in advance. It's not in a fully finished state. There are a couple of time jumps, etc.
Also, the Android version will show the wrong version number because I can't figure out an easy way to change it.
I will fix any problems when I release the second half of v0.15, if not before.

Thanks,
DB

This board is just toxic to any dev. As a user/player it's a great place but seeing what it did with many devs and how that worked out for the games they create, well,... it doesn't really helps the genre. Sure, there're some devs who're milking and scamming in a really unshamed way and those dudes should be called out. But too many pirates don't have filters. They don't even recognize the good ones and just throw shit like apes in the zoo to anyone.

so true not gonna lie I hated how many people were calling this abandoned so quickly when it wasn't even a day since the announcement of needing a break. Especially to a dev like DB who seems to pause patron regularly when he felt it's appropriate and has been nothing transparent since I started to play AVN's as a hobby. I understand it can be a worrisome sign for what's to come to some but to me feels like many were to quick to the trigger on an otherwise great dev.
