romancing Charlotte really feels as a healing process or at least i hope it will be
Love will help her a lot
, but we need to wait a pretty long time, because, if Charlie changed her behavior to the MC in a moment, plot will became awful. (It concerns to all 4 love interests in the game). The MC should built relationship of trust with all Lloyds' ladies and then we can count on some friendship and then we can expect love interest from one of the lady. It's a long shot path.
The problem would be "oh I fall in love with MC. Magically, all my problems are gone". That would definitely be a poor approach.
I feel the same. Well, there you are, great minds think alike
(No offence, I'm trying to laugh a bit). In fact, it was clearly logical conclusion to make. I'm glad to see someone, who took my point of view.
the idea that Charlotte could be healed by just a decent guy and love after her past and way she behaves is less likely.
I disagree with you, and I didn't catch who was saying that "decent guy" could heal? You may call me naive, but time and love heals our life wounds. I give an example from my life: my aunt get married in 80's, her husband was like a wolf in sheepskin - kind and friendly on public and abuser in home, added to that he was an alcoholic. My aunt forgive him so many times, she even lose a count how many. She forgive his adulteries, (jeez, she even knew all the names of his sluts), he betrayed her many times and all of this continued until his death. I asked a lot of questions to my aunt and the last one was: if there's a opportunity to have a relationship with a man after so many years of loneliness, will you be with him or probably start a new family?" She answered that maybe she will try again to be woman in love, but she needs to fall in love so hard like some kind of magic need to show up, because she looks at men through x-rays glasses and play with her is a really bad idea - she sees right through them at once. My aunt doesn't disappoint in men, she believes in love and doesn't compare her bloody husband with all men on Earth.
the kind of trauma's she had to endure and how she is shown to react to them over time makes quite a strong case for her needing some professional help to deal with them if this was real life instead of a game and overcoming the trauma's and how they made her behave and then she will still need to overcome some deep seated trust issues likely.
"I believe in love, it's all we got...
...Without love I wouldn't believe,
I couldn't believe in you,
And I wouldn't believe in me
Without love"
Elton John sang it perfectly what I'm gonna saying right now. And these words, even if they're a boring cliché in art or in life being, but love gives us a strength, hope, faith, self-confidence in what we're doing. And I believe that Charlotte will have an appointment to psychiatrist again, because she will want to deal with her own old problem, but she needs to trust to the MC, fall in love with the MC. Why she should change something in her life, everything looks good to her, but the MC will show her that is not. Then she will have hesitation in her behavior towards the MC and she will suffer because of it - her mind tell her to stop, her heart tell her to try, her reflexes tell her to run away... Because she has been building the ice-castle so many years, decades, that it will be impossible to ruin that castle at once. It's predictable to go to psychiatrist, because she needs a clear second opinion, she needs answers, help to rebalance her priorities of life. Charlotte is a tough woman, but in that case emotions will overwhelm her.
Not only this would make more sense to the likes of Charlotte, it would also be more effective as a mean of protection.
Having a team of bodyguards is quite logical, but, unfortunately, plot won't work in that way, and it will be a real hardcore for dev to deal with it. Even Jed Mercurio write analogical event that David save Julia and storms Pascoe house by himself (he got a team in the other car, but doesn't ask them for a help), and that twist of plot help to bring close together Julia and David (David is only one, who cares about her, he was there with her in the car, he's a hero, who save her life).
I do believe that the relationship with the MC can be part of a healing process for her.
I believe too
the current situation with Emma forced Charlotte to acknowledge her problems, realizing how much her problems have hurt her children, in particular Emma (more on this below) and her own inability to become happy.
My thoughts exactly! Dev has been already hinted to us that the MC had moved in correct direction (a gift with photos of Charlottes' children) Own children means all to their mothers. But Charlie needs a frank talk, she needs a clear point of view. She needs to know about bullying to Emma.
But what will happen with Lucy if the MC does prefer Charlotte?
Well, she needs to have that man to lose
. In fact, if there's a possibility to make a love triangle, Charlotte will leave the MC and the MC like Geralt in the Witcher 3 ended up with nothing at all, BUT dev has been already said there's no harem in this game, so maybe
HillsideVN will tease these type of gamers
and then spoiled their intentions (I'm a pure evil
)
