Well, according to the wordage itself: "gold-plated" = fake gold. You can gold-plate anything, but it doesn't make it gold. But he follows it up with "real". So, in essence what he said means nothin at all.For some reason, this sentence intrigues me, but I fail to understand it...

Unless znar25 refers to sports medals, which are actually gold-plated, but that seems far-fetched to me.
