The last update was definitely a step back for character development. Stuff happens but nothing progresses. Just spinning our wheels.

I think it was fine when were talking only about the last update but my head will explode in case Agent Fox loses the evidence and the MC didnt thought about making a copy of the stuff before handling it over ... i already see it coming tho :ROFLMAO:

Yes, the latest update was nice for the story progression and I think by now we can pretty much all agree that while the MC is a true gentleman, a lovable Teddy bear and a ferocious protector, he is very far from being one of the sharpest pencils in the box. :HideThePain: This flash drive is already gone and he never thought about making as many copies as possible. This is probably what everyone thinks right now.
Which is why I think that this may not be the case. It's a cliché, too obvious.

I like that the story bar filled up first. A good sign for a VN. We have a story, ladies and gentlemen!
I think the dev has said that he has the story arc planned out, having the script skeleton laid out defines the scope for this update means he has a definite finish point for this release.

I have the main story written, but when starting a new update, I need to develop the plot, figure out what scenes are needed, decide how long the update will be, and choose a good ending point. This is what the 'Story' section represents.

And this is always the first thing I focus on, though I often start working on the script or storyboarding before it's fully completed.

Damn, must be really complicated. I mean, I suck badly at even writing stories, but splitting them in parts which make sense and still keeping them interesting as a unit, maybe the coding is the easiest part after all. Respect.

Exactly what I always thought and admired about all these indie VN devs who can write stories at this level. Knowing that I am totally able to write code for a Ren'Py game and I could likely make decent DAZ 3D CG, the only thing keeping me back from trying to make any game is the complete inability to write a story that I would like myself.
I mean, I've written essays in school and got good and really good grades for it, but writing a novel such as this one is a completely different ballgame. Needs a real talent I wish I had.

Yep. I am a dev myself by profession now (funny thing is, F95Zone AVNs inspired me to become one) and I had the exact same thoughts. Coding, rendering, is learnable. But if I would want to ever do indie deving full-time, there would simply so much stress to come up with a new and interesting story every single time. There are many mind blowingly beautiful AVNs with piss poor stories (mostly Russian/Ukrainian ones), and I can count on myself which devs manage to create immersive ones. DB is one of those devs with his AVN. So yeah, I think the hardest part (for me at least) is the writing.
