So if you've read one book, you can no longer read another book in your mind? If you play one game, you can never play another game in your mind? Your only hope is that the creator will endlessly add to that existing content?

You have a completed story with what currently exists. Separating into a sequel does no harm to this existing story. Yet, if you continue, you risk the code getting unwieldy. Things like branches that never panned out don't have to be carried forward into the new game, where as its unnecessary code slop if you continue forward and thus leads to dev cycles taking longer. You're being stupid and promoting an idea that doesn't benefit you, does nothing to protect the existing content, and only makes the code work more difficult moving forward. Look at basically any other AVN out there, they do what I suggested. Oh, and that's before considering things like future remasters and things like that.

No, these characters stories aren't done being told. I'm saying to separate the story arcs as you would see in a manga/anime instead of generic seasons. The next arc of this story is going to be much more difficult to pull off. It's likely going to be significantly longer bc the problem is systemic and not some ground level grunts perving.
More great insights from the guy who thought the woman beater was Charlotte's ex.

If you had just gone back a page or two, you would have seen the message from the developer that said "if one more person asks me about when the next update is out or how long it's going to take for the game to be completed, I'm going to quit working on the game altogether."

Way to wreck it for everybody.
:p HillsideVN should be over the moon that so many members are crazy for an update given that this game with no sexual content is so popular on a porn game site where instant gratification is just a click away... It only speaks to how much we are lost in the story and depth of characters in this and are on the edge of our seats to find out what comes next, that we are bursting at the seams...

Hillside is the game I have supported financially for the longest time. The story of the game, especially the beauty of the character "Charlotte", impresses me. Also, have the friends who complain that there is no "sexuality" in the game never played the game? There are quite a few sexual and sex scenes in the game.

The sex scenes are currently limited to a few specific characters (Lucy, Kaylah), so if you are a fan of Charlotte, Suzi, or Emma, as LIs then yeah you will be somewhat disappointed. Fox, if I recall correctly, isn't supposed to have a path so she seems to be a dead end. Emma is just starting to realize, via her drams, she has feelings for MC; Charlotte is opening up to seeing a future with MC; and Suzi is... well Suzi. :p It's a slow burn, but a very well done slow burn for those characters. Jumping straight into lewd scenes with Emma just wouldn't work in the early days of the story, knowing Emma and Charlotte in those early days just wouldn't work.

The characters are very well developed, and each is very different than the other. There's no cookie cutter characters, other than the usual trope they fit into (evil villain, angry evil henchman, naive young lady, traumatized person/woman, etc.). But they are well done within those. Emma's initial naivety really irritated me at times, but as you see her grow out of it, it's like watching a whole new character show up.
