Even if you choose all the good options for Charlotte, she is not feeling for MC if he is on other path. Why exactly? A few scenes prior to this, she confessed she has feelings for MC to Lucy then suddenly she changed her mind. Why the inconsistency?

I think it could be better she has these feeling but when she noticed MC and Lucy has a thing or when Lucy said it she will just accept it and be happy for them. Unless something happened at the background, this scene does not fit at all.
It would have made more sense, if she just said, "he's a good man, but I know Lucy likes him, not going to deny her some happiness, I love my sis".
