yeah i prefer bigger updates too... BUT compared to others games and devs, the updates for this game were not that big considering the development time... and there arent even animations in the game(not really).

so its fair to say, Darkblue is a little bit on the slower side compared to others DEVs. No offense, but it is how it is... iam not overly complaining here, just stating a fact. But the fact that he is rather slow, made me cancel the membership a year ago. And the last update was not that big to change my mind for half a year development-time. So i will refresh the membership when i want to play the new update just once and thats it... others like philly, DPC, Drifty and many more are doing a way better job compared to darkblue.. showing way more content in higher quality in the same or even shorter development-time.

But i really really love this game and its approach, cause its so different to all the other games around here. But yeah DB dont put enough content in time to get the whole time support i think... its just not enough for me.



And for the neverending sex talk in this thread... guys... Darkblue made it very clear by the start of this project, that this is NOT a lewd/porn game and never will be...

If you would have supported his work at one point you know that.

Its pretty safe to assume that there will be no sex between MC and the main-LIs until the end of the game... and i wouldnt even bet on it than.

Lucy will get most likely some sex with the MC during the journey... but i dont see that coming with Emma or Charlotte soon... maybe even not in the end.

And all the harem, incest and whatnot talkers... youre looking into the wrong game... This game is nearly only about story and a romantic build-up (in a somewhat realistic approach), lewd scenes dont have a priority and would be out of place too at this point... i would love to see some lewd things with charlotte or/and Emma in the end of the game, but it would so not make any sense for now... even just a kiss would be a HUGE step for Charlotte and Emma at this point, and i mean a real kiss, not just a peck which we already saw.

That's why this game is so awesome to me, it's focused on the story, the development of the characters and the relationships between them. It's a feeling you get in the best games, like Being a DIK. Where sure the sex scenes are plentiful, especially if you take the full DIK route but the developer managed to balance that with the fact that he created the CHICK route. Where the sex scenes are much rarer, and thanks to that we can better focus on the development of the characters and the story throughout the episodes.

But adding sex scenes in Hillside before the end of the game would make absolutely no sense. And I'm glad the developer didn't, it could have taken us out of the story or even caused some level of incoherence. Throughout the story, the MC develops stress and paranoia in order to be able to protect Emma, it's eating him up like it was his own daughter. Adding sex scenes in the middle of all this tension would not make sense and certainly would not be useful.

I both agree and disagree. Pacing is very important and if you want to tell a story you need to keep a reign on it but at the same time there is user expectation to play into. There's no point in trying to attach to a story to a shag fest of a game, cause no one cares (too much), but at the same time going down say the Wife and Mother route means you just end up with a lot of subs hanging about going "fucks sake, we're 20 releases in and we're still getting nothing".

If you take away my subjective opinions, then yes, basically there is no point in having a good story in a “fuck game”. But then again, there are plenty of “fuck games” out there that don't have much of a story. But yes, you're right that in the absolute sense, in the basic genre that this game is, the story is not important for the average user. But personally, I think that trying to release a game like this in this genre is quite courageous from the creator.

And I totally support him, because he wants to tell his story no matter what the users think. I think it's important that the creator doesn't let himself be influenced (from what I know, I wouldn't want to say that he's never been influenced, since I'm guessing from what I've heard) by those who would like his story and his game to be treated like any other game in the same genre, and that he adapts to their different expectations.

Which to me again makes it more unique and more appealing. The creator wants to tell his story, and maybe his personal vision for games in this genre. And not the story and style of play that anyone would expect. You can't compare it to other games in this basic category, for me, it's radically in the category of adult games, but not in the category of porn games.

But yes, unfortunately you can't satisfy everyone, some will love it, like me, and others will hate it, it's ineluctable.

Am I misremembering something or was DB talking about working on/adding animations to V0.11? Before his health worries I remember a couple of news updates discussing the matter and even a small video of Zack in his car. I honestly don't care about animations much, but I am curious if they are still in the works or if DB decided agains them. Did I miss a post about that? Will we get animations at a later date? I only really care about the story but I keep having this at the back of my mind.
