Doesn't scream confidence as you can't seem to commit to a project.

Only one of those games is actually abandoned though. Inquisitor Trainer is still getting updates alongside this one (there's a more recent game update but the thread hasn't been updated yet), and there's a roadmap for continued development.

If they prove they can't or won't sustain both projects then fine, but so far there's not much cause for concern. It's not surprising that a solo dev abandoned their first project - lots of first prototypes don't work out or get replaced by better things as the dev learns.

That's a fair point, though I would argue (respectfully) that this wouldn't be the only instance of this happening (ponzi scheme), the question is, how many time do you have to get bitten, to start being cautious ?

Legitimate scepticism and good faith aren't mutually exclusive.

Ran it through 3 antivirus and all gave positives.
Wouldn't recommend downloading for now.
I don't remember where I downloaded it from, but it was clean. I would always recommend everyone to scan anything they download. Even if the site you download from says they scan all files for malware.

As for the gameplay, it's simple, but fun for a few minutes. Nice character design. She does look similar to the Braindance character. I didn't know about that game until seeing strange_prize's post above. Used with permission? Enemies move slowly. She walks slowly. The enemies don't really seem interested in attacking. I beat the demo stage without taking any hits. I have played beat-'em-ups enough that I shouldn't struggle with the first stage of a game like this, but I was surprised no one took a swing at me. The background looks fine. The enemies were fine for the first stage. If it gets harder as you progress, then I really don't even care that the first board was a cakewalk. Recommendation to the dev: speed up the movement a little. Get the enemies interested in attacking (at least at stage 2, which isn't in the demo). More difficult recommendation: add more attack options. I like the game so far. It has potential. All that is for nothing if the game's assets are stolen.

Yeah. The dev is known for just filling everything with AI-generated content, and also, the main character sprites are stolen.

(I would really love a project like this to continue. But not exactly this one. The idea is great, but the way it has been made in this demo isn't. Someone should really put their heart, soul and mind into making a game like this, but NOT stealing other dev's work.)
