I haven't played in 4 years. I think it was pretty grindy back then to try and get anything done. Is it better now?

having trouble finding a download that works even from darkhounds patreon. Google has exceeded its download quota apparently and mega isnt working properly, mixdrop is just adds and uploadhaven will take a week. Would anyone be able to post any new download sites.

I used to love this game. But man 5 years later and we are at a snails pace. Darkhound you do know the point is to be fuckingthe girls on the regular right? I mean were only supposed to be on the island a couple months but im 181 days in and you ain't fuckin shit without the sun, moon and planets all in alinement. Even then its most often just a tit flash or handjob.
Crazy part is they are all escorts. So it's not like were trying to fuck our way through a nunnery. And what's up with the sauna? Do you have any idea how hard it is to get one character to show up on one day in an afternoon just to see that scene? No matter how many times i've went on mixed day there is never a girl that shows up. As long as Yvette has been on my island with maxed out lust love and affection, that girl should be shoving me into any broom closet or bed she can find to fuck me.
I do like the lacy update. Would love to finally fuck a girl that hasn't already been fuckable for 3 years tho. Aly's one of the first girls made and she hasn't gotten more than a titwank scene.
and why has my charisma left me dumb as a box of rocks? I mean charm is maxed out but when Lacy is hitting on me I'm not getting it? Pretty sure a five year old is getting what she's putting down in her dialogue. Pretty sure and anime harem protag would get the picture.
This game used to be good. but now its more like I'm achievement grinding in game so I can look at the pictures later and not enjoy the scenes in the moment. This really loses the magic of a good sandbox. There's also no real progression here. Once you unlock something with a character, you still have to unlock that event if you want to re-experience it as it is intended. The scene view is just a bunch of images. Thats not the same.

Seriuosly, Aly was one of the first girls the mc meets when the game was launched. all these years later, not a single sex scene or any good update. really frustating.

Holiday Island has a multitude of different options, random events and specialized encounters that are all part of building the relationships with each of the girls surrounding him. Just like in real life you will get hungry, horny, drunk and need to sleep. Just like real life, if the player doesn't interact with and pay attention to a girl(s), their affection, love and desire for the player will decline. This isn't a virtual novel where you skip dialogue until sex happens. This is a game where immersing yourself in the context, manage your daily activities and pay attention to the girls' tendencies, wants, desires, etc. will lead to various encounters and pay dividends down the line. The game isn't complete yet, but there's a lot of content to enjoy. As for whether there is 'grinding', the developer has already provided the best answer.
Sounds like you expect this game to have a beginning, middle and end, along with having a format you prefer. Based on your post, Holiday Island will never measure up to what you want it to be. Take your comment on Aly as an example ... Yes, she was one of the first girls, but although popular with some players, her popularity pales in comparison to say Yvette and Amy. Just because she doesn't have a penetration sex scene, doesn't mean she's flawed. Sex with Aly will happen when it happens. Meaning when the developer decides to write and render said scene.
Read the above from the developer. There is no need to have your and the girl(s) stats maxed out. It will not help you if you're achievement hunting, which incidentally is the wrong way to play Holiday Island. The Companion Guide and other posts within this thread offer an easy solution to guarantee Yvette is in the sauna on co-ed days. The latest update even allows you to invite her to sauna.
Not saying your opinion or take on Holiday Island is wrong. Just suggesting you might consider looking at the game and the way you play it in a different light.

Ask her to change into it. Each girl has three outfits and you can ask them to wear something different by clicking on the hanger icon.

anyone else find this game extremely grindy and almost unplayable? There is no learning curve or direction to lead you. Just lots of clicking...and an annoying board game style clicking system for "increasing stats". It looks fun and has potential...but too much in the way of fun...

Creep towards more complex triggers is a classic issue as game's mature and lean more into character or events, always a balance and individual preferences will differ a lot, some will enjoy it, others not.
So what can instead be argued is, that it is important that mixed content based on simple triggers should preferably keep a balance with the complex so as to produce a smooth pace (as possible).
No, that is not correct.
The majority are not escorts.
Even the old invite/resort guest girls (who draw a number of girls from the premade busty escorts source) are not all escorts.
And of those who actually do escort, most are not of the insert coin, get sex type (which the game have them explain from time to time too)
And of course, they are there on vacation, so they have no reason to have sex with the player beyond whatever their personal motivations give them (which is the basic concept of the game, so based on their character and not their "job", some would be sexual predators, some highly sexed, others would not).
I'll skip the rest, as that is what you'd like the game to be and everybody will have their own opinion there.

I haven't seen this game in a while. Any android porter who still actively ports this game by any chance? the site I check up on every once in a while does not show it there anymore.

Aly is a girl next door type (character) who (I suppose we could call it) social "escort" and model (job).
She does not engage in casual sex with strangers nor sex escort.
Her character and purpose sets her apart from most of the other resort guests.
Aly therefore tends to "quest" her way forward (expensive, slow) and in Aly-style (which is different and thus takes longer to do) while competing for scarce resources.
What would (imo) help her the most is for other old girls to wrap up and free resources, and perhaps also thinking about what she'd do after her quest ends, as she will at that point have completed her role in the game (aka. done).

Yeah, this game does have a special place in my heart because it was the first Adult Indie game I played; I was actually browsing the internet for another game called Holiday Island when I found this one
(Someone out there remembering the other? It was a 90s SimCity style game set on....a tropical island!)
The screenshots immediately drew me in, so that is saying something.
And hot renders are not the only good thing, this game does have some really good foundations: not a pure VN, a potentially interesting story, a ton of naughty content, and a nice setting.
But that does not do away with the fact that it also has some serious issues. Note, I don't hate to do a bit of grinding, sure. Building stats that then decline over time? fine.
But the fact that you have to repeat the same hug/kiss/walk on the beach/sit in the sun with very cringey, unskippable dialogue over and over again? It makes this game reaaallly tedious, the amount of clicking to get through these forever repeating scenes is ridiculous.
And a lot of scenes are dependent on a lot of factors: lust/love/affection/stamina stats for the LI and for the MC, the location, time of day and I suspect there is also some RNG involved. These factors combined ensured that I have never encountered certain scenes.
And on a personal note: the LI's that I find the most attractive have the least scenes (tier 3 girls) I want more Brenda, Rene and Delizia!
If you take a second to read and don't just skip everything, the game tells you over and over again. Each time you don't know how to do it in fact, that you have to ask Jennifer at the gym.
