Where do you have it installed? Make sure the installation path doesn't include unusual symbols or overly long folder names, as those can sometimes cause issues.

Without the code you cannot save your characters created in the editor.

What was the last character you had loaded? As in the character that appears in the main menu when you load the game? This error happens to me when that girl is deleted from the character folder.
