For folks that use this with toys like the handy, and also use VAM -- is this worth investing time to set up? Or is VAM ultimately superior?

I can only answer the 2nd question out of context: if sex is the goal, yes, VAM is superior. If I'm comparing it right, VAM is like a high-quality sandbox, and HS2 is like a big playground. If you're already familiar and comfortable with VAM, coming to HS2 will feel like a downgrade. The jiggle physics in HS2 is comparable to a sphere being stretched, whereas VAM's jiggle physics is more soft and organic like pizza dough, letting you poke, stretch, and squeeze.

I imagine the main reason people still use HS2 is because it's so easy and convenient for monke like me to use. The only person in here that I know uses VAM is Hater Supreme, and he hasn't played HS2 in over 9 years, so he either has a soft spot for the game or suffers from Stockholm syndrome. Joking aside, I would just stick with VAM unless you're okay with trading quality for ease of use
