My guess is that he represents some gamer subculture who're specifically into the Japanese stuff. Actually now that green tank top guy reminds me of all those American rap core bands. I guess his cocky and arrogant demeanor is what reminded me of the PS controller guy.

For a game about making porn, the scenes are tantalizingly sensual, and the characters are bursting with personality. The best irony I could possibly ask for. And for how much content is in each update, they are coming out at a pleasing rate

it's not the deep

ps1 was such a big deal at the time, it wasn't impossible to see people walking around with controller wrapped around their neck like necklaces. also bringing discs and cases to show off to people.

i don't think these people sought out each other out, so i wouldn't call it a subculture.
it was just cool to own a ps1.

Never saw anybody wearing that tbh. Though I just checked when it came out, and I was 7 at the time, so I guess I wouldn't remember anyway.
