Ren'Py - Hornycraft [v0.24.1] [Shadik]

This is spectacular. I should preface this review by saying I'm not a minecraft person nor do I review games often, but I had to speak up for this one.

Pros:
-It feels like an actual game! There a multitude of minigames that don't overstay their welcome. They are simple but you feel good doing them
-The art is phenomenal. Every single character you interact with is insanely attractive in their own way.
-There's a story. It's not much but each character has their own unique arc and it's a joy to go through each one.
-Variety is the spice of life. Some characters like you, some don't. It's up to you to get them to like you (or themselves)
-There's a decent amount of content. As of .06.1 I spent a good 4-5 hours figuring everything out on my own.

Cons (these are small overall which is why I still gave it a 5 star):
-The writing sounds weird in some areas. It's clear whoever is writing this, English is not their first language. I'd say 80% of it is good but 20% of it uses the wrong words or tone for what it's trying to convey. I suggest that the developer add an in game button to flag text that doesn't make sense and let people enter what it should say.
-The animations are....hit and miss. As mentioned in the pros, the art is fantastic, but later on there's animations and it's clear the developer wanted to try different angles and positions but some of them look kinda awkward
-The voice acting is fine but it's not correctly assigned for all the scenes. There are scenes where there are different speeds, and while there are voice lines for more intensity, sometimes they are not added so while the girl tells you to pound her brains out and she's doing the aheago face, she still sounds like when you were in the foreplay.

Overall do not overlook this. It's excellent and cannot wait to see the next update.

Good, simple game:
- It used to be pretty grindy on the first released but that improved a lot in recent updates.
- Animations are pretty good imo, and don't worry, there's no blocky dicks.
- Not a huge fan of how mc talks (primarily when Alex is involved, with the whole "turning her into your slut" thing), but I can look past that as dialogue is not the focus of the game.

Overall, I'm looking forward to updates, and hope mc changes how he talks throughout the game or something, but again, story isn't a huge point of the game.

Review for v0.06.1

Edit: Haven't actually returned to this, but according to the discourse the dev randomly inserted some transphobic content for who cares what reason. Regardless of your views, randomly inserting stuff like that into your game is some true degenerate shit.

Right now, this is basically a gallery viewer with minigames. This does appeal to a niche and does the lewd parts well enough. The art has its charm, and it surprisingly has some decent animations.

But that's kind of where the positives end for me. There's minimal plot and dialogue to get to the scenes, and I find the dialogue pretty awful. Gameplay is just a collection of easy minigames you repeat over and over. I'd be totally fine with a simple Minecraft porn game as not everything needs full blown plot and such, but I just don't find what exists here very good. The MC speaks like an incel, and Alex is the town bicycle that we are trying to "turn into our slut" which doesn't have a lot of appeal to me. I do like the monster girls though.

I will say say some people seem to be blowing the grind way out of proportion. Once you get your bearings it takes like 15 minutes to get all the upgrades and items you need to complete literally everything, and it's not like the minigames are difficult.

Last minor gripe, I always hate when we don't get an option to rename the MC, even if we are playing as Minecraft Steve.

I don't think you're missing anything worthwhile by not playing this, but if you're into Minecraft porn I'd just say download a full save.

Extremely grindy game, there is almost no story and the art is average as its best . The existent 'story' seems to be pure retardation. I tried it because of the high ratings. I made a mistake.

It can be good for Minecraft fetichists* (citation needed: who the fuck are they?) but otherwise is a waste of time.

Gameplay
Controls: Point and click. Multiple minigames.

Plot: Nothing, it’s more a collection of questlines that end with sex.
Characters: Very little we haven’t seen already. A mean redhead, a horny nerd, a shy cowgirl. Good enough to read, but nothing really interesting.
Typos: Can’t remember any.
Art
Models: Probably the best part of the game, lots of body diversity, on high quality designs.
Animations: Good.
Background: As good as they need to be.
Audio
Music: Taken from the source material.
Effects: Taken from the source material.
Voices: Sounds like they're stolen from real porn.

A very nice game, with good graphics, humor and even gameplay! It’s very promising, with decent mechanics and a great potential for hours of fun. The characters are cute and weirdly arousing, love it!

That being said, it lacks sex scenes: they are all really short and don’t feel very rewarding. Like the dialogue options “show me…” who are subdivided in several options and don’t give much to the player. But it’s still v 0.05 as I write this review, so I really hope the devs are motivated!

Pros:
- concept is fun and unique
- art seems good (theres not a lot at this point, but what is there is good)

Cons:
- this game is VERY GRINDY, so much so that it inspired me to write this review. Bypassing the grind with save editors is also not possible because the dev locked the save files. (At least on android).

The grind is so bad I just stopped playing after a while, not fun. Everything needs resources and you only get very little every time.

This game could be good, if the grind is reduced. I'll edit my review if that happens, but for now its a 2 star.

It's cute and unique so it's got it's pluses. A cow girl with barely any lactation was a bit of a let down for me. The unique art and reference to the source material make it a fun niche game though. Overall 3 of 5, probably 4 if you're a big fan of that source material.

The art is fantastic and while the game is a little grindy I really don't think it's that much of an issue. You can upgrade to full iron equipment in sub 30 minutes for example (For the dev, maybe making the minigames more challenging but give greater rewards is an option?).

Additionally, the world map looks good and the UI is both clean and thematic which is fun.

Additionally the girls so far are all interesting and well designed. I initially really liked the interplay between the neighbour Alex and the MC in a big sister little brother kind of way. She teased him for being new/not knowing much but helped him when he asked and accepted what little help the MC could give in return. It was sweet.

My biggest complaint is with the MC. I don't like his design being the only 'traditionally' square character in the game (thus far) which makes him stand out. And what I really don't like is his later interaction with Alex (his neighbour). The MC comes off as a massive tool throughout, unable to handle even the most mild teasing without calling his neighbour a bitch, and turning from 'wow me and Alex are friends. Us through thick-and-thin' to 'that fucking bitch I'm going to ruin her life and turn her into my personal slut' after one fight where Alex even admits she was was and apologizes. It kind of slows down after that and the two return to a semblance of their old relationship, but it still pops up every now and then when I feel like the drastic mood swings the MC has over Alex could have just been excluded in their entirety.

The art is good but the mechanics are profoundly grindy.

The story is basically nothing, meet girls and shower them with gifts until their scenes unlock.

I appreciate when people make effort to put "gamey" stuff in adult games, but just because you wrote the code for a minigame doesn't mean you have to subject people to it a thousand times.

I liked the early part of the game where you are actually upgrading your tools; they should extend that part so that eventually your tools are good enough that you can skip the minigames.

Absolutely great art, really nice addition to the parody worlds. I remembered back in the day when playing minecraft brooo i never would have thought i would fap to it. holy shit this is glory golden game. the dev is really gifted he try knows how to make characters sexy with good posing also hope for future it will include some kinky fetishes but for now its really awesome.. the story is really like you are playing minecraft holy shit this game really needs to get more attention.. good luck to the dev!! <3

One of the greatest games what i played. It's simple as fuck in most points but deliver me coolest emotions what i ever got in "porn" games.
Seems like the project is interesting to it dev, as special i can say it because i saw this game(it was an April Fool's joke) on release in first few days and what we have now... that's impressive.

For real it 4 stars, but personally for me - 5, because of high positive and truly feeling emotions.

This is a review for v0.04.1. I also played an earlier version and was just as impressed. The story so far is alright, it has its ups and downs. The PC(Steve) let's himself get pushed around too much for my liking. The main girl(Alex) is also a giga-whore, but has yet to give Steve a taste. The story is now about making her your whore rather than one that sleeps around with everyone else. There are also other girls that Steve can get with.

The art is really good. The scenes are animated quite well. The art style is unique but fits for the Minecraft setting. Steve is the most blocky of all the characters. The other characters are also a bit blocky, but not too much. It strikes a perfect balance. It's most noticeable on Alex during her BJ scene.

The gameplay consists of talking to the girls, harvesting materials and upgrading locations. There are mini-games when you harvest and they are really simple. The grind can be reduced by upgrading your tools. But as of now the grind is still a bit much. I made it to day 50 before I could get every scene.

I like this game a lot, despite the setting. I absolutely hate Minecraft, but this game is good so I can look past it. I would recommend playing this game and supporting the developer Shadik if you can.

i see so much potential in this game, even tough it just came out i can see the love you put on the scenes and the art. That's a lot to take on consideration, should be more appreciated and hope to see a lot more on the future, take care and dont rush or burn yourself, you are doing a great job , hope to see all the mob-girls on the future

For what started as an April fools day joke, this has surprising high potential! To be fair, t is a bit grindy at the moment... but so is Minecraft when you think about it. Art's surprisingly good, and it's pretty funny.

There's very little content so far but for now I'll give it 5 stars because the art is amazing, what little animation is there is above average, and it's a unique/funny concept that's still pretty hot if done right.

THAT BEING SAID there's a clear potential for this game to suffer from mile wide inch deep (or even inch wide inch deep) syndrome. I played the game for 15 minutes tops and Alex was full willing slut for Steve. Seems like there's already no room for plot progression and all that's missing are the sex scenes, which is concerning. Hopefully it's just a proof of concept for how the systems work and it'll be rebalanced as more content is added because if it's just *throw 20 iron at each character to make them your bitch* this will turn into a 2/5 game real quick.

Review for 0.1

HornyCraft has a lot going for it, the concept and situations are engaging and different compared to the same old harem/ dating sim games. The dialog gives the characters a real personality but some things are left ambiguous which creates a nice mystery or thing to be discovered.

There are mechanics for gathering resources which is good, although they could use some work to make them less grindy in the future. The sex scenes are pretty straight forward but include good renders and animation.

I think it would be good to add in the feature to choose which outfit the characters are wearing as you unlock more outfits and if you have a high relationship score. It feels like the game has the potential to better with future updates.

Like some other people i haven't played the 1st release.
That said, from what i've seen, it has a lot of potential, the art is gorgeous, the dialogue is pretty good, the MC is a...slow guy, which is refreshing, and Alex is a horny girl which when combined with how slow the MC is can make for a few laughs.
The little sexual content we have right now is of good quality, and actually shows the interaction of two characters, not robots, again, refreshing.
Looking foward to the next releases, where the MC get to bang some monster girls and check out on Alex's adventures.

Review for 0.1

I didn't play the original release, so im not sure about the april fools version of this game. It does seem to still affect this version somewhat. The intro in this game is a bit weird and it feels like it should maybe be repurposed later into the game.

Overall the dialogue is alright. A few mistakes or weird things here or there, but overall it's pretty good. You run out of dialogue options really fast though, so there isn't much to see in this version.

Story wise there isn't much yet. It does the job for now, but as I said the intro feels a bit off and that's most of the story rn.

Collecting resources is a bit annoying. The wood minigame especially, so far you don't need a lot of wood, but if I have to do that a lot it will be bad. The mining is alright imo, but still feels a bit grindy. Tbh I think that that's because it's the only thing to do once you run out of dialogue, so I had to do a bunch of it in a row. The mining might be balanced once more content is introduced. It's mostly annoying that you get cobblestone, which you can't really use right now.

The art is pretty good. the bj scene wasn't amazing imo, but otherwise I like it.

Should you play this game right now:
Well there is a scene, a scene and you can . There is a bit of dialogue, which is pretty good. Beyond that though, you'll have to wait for updates. imo it's worth a try rn if you really like the concept.

Overall this version has a lot of potential, but not the strongest start I have ever seen. Especially storywise it feels a bit weak. I would give it a 3.5/5 for now, but I think it will end up 4/5 or 5/5 with some more work.

Can't call this a game, nothing in it and the only real conten in it is a image of alex in a gold bikini. other than that it's just cycling through menu's. if i'm not supposed to take it this seriously then warn people about the prank or just don't post it here.
