VN - Ren'Py - Hot Sand of Antarctica [v0.09] [Grinvald]

It's a great story, starting in what I thought was a dystopian harem world , the theme is to find more women to cultivate their own harem .
In the last two updates(0.5 and 0.6) I've noticed that the author has begun to add depth to the story , developing a zigzagging apocalyptic survival storyline .
The quality of the whole picture is very high , and the authors have done a good job of inheriting the looks of mothers and daughters, who look alike but can clearly distinguish ages .
This is arguably one of the best new works of 2022 .

Alright, i have to clear up some misconceptions about the game that come from a previous reviewer.

1. There is no sharing, cucking or cheating in this game. Your wives are your wives and no one's else

1.5 You can let your wives "share" each other. But that is optional.

2. MC has no intention to give his daughters to Mongol (at the very least if you choose so).
The conversion the reviewer talks about is more applicable to the others under Mongols rule, not the MC. He is the right hand man of the big boss which gives him much more leeway than others. The conversion talk about how things should be "by law" but the reality is quite different from "hypotheticals".

Intriguing story, appealing female characters that are well enough written for harem characters and good looking too. Good density of sex and plot time. The fetishes are right up my alley - dev knows how to make incest appealing.

Quality renders and good looking girls! Body textures aren't of the highest standard, but absolutely good enough for me in the overall look of the game.

And an extra 5th star for the Dev making MC's dick look delicious, especially while getting blown. Make notes other devs, dicks gotta shine when they're sucked.

My only complaint so far is MC being completely emotionless. Not objectively a bad thing (because it makes it kinda easier to project yourself into him), but it stands out with all other male and female characters showing emotions.

Can't wait to see where this goes!

Wow! That was actually excellent entertainment, even without the sex scenes (which are kind of average). But the music and plot and renders create this dynamite atmosphere. The programmer knows how to weave dialogue and scene into a palpable reality you rarely, if ever, see in adult games. The girls are delicious, and that sister, Milani, cute as hell. I'm stoked to see this continue. I'm tempted to play it again, right now, even though I know exactly how it will go.

I like dystopian-settings game combined with some adventures, and this game hits right on the spot ! It also has an element of horror that is, also nice. Renders are quite good and the story is awesome

keep it up . This story is getting better with every upgrade . Having a good amount of adventure combined with lewd actions , hot babes to seduce ...... The harem tag adds an exciting feature to a VN. But it can be an obvious cliche or surprisingly fascinating . Definitely a challenge . Good luck in making a difference . Think harem

I only just found this game yesterday and already can't wait for the next update, shame I only just found out now that it's been abandoned. If the dev is still reading through the thread, pls know that you have a unique game here, I can guarantee you that this game will start to gather pace with more supporters.

This is just a few suggestions that could help you gain more support, taking down the abandoned sign (cus no one wants to play an abandoned game), adding in a few more tags to draw in more attention to the game (fetish ting), change the cover adding in the main character and his girls (you designed those girls so show them off, make them stand out to your fans and new members), this might not be necessary but have a fan signature (let your fans help promote your game in other threads). You can always ask for help, ideas and opinions from your thread and patron members.

Hope this and the previous comments will help convince you to change your mind, would love to see the rest of this story!!!

TL/DR: Interesting post apocalyptic harem game with a badass but caring protagonist. Lots of intrigue. A healthy helping of 'cest vibed content. Pathing is rather simple. Writing is relatively simple- but it gets the job done.

0.6 Update
~Scene content continues to be so incredibly hot that I'm kickin' it up a star despite any of its other warts.

I really like the story on this. And the sex scenes blend in perfectly with it. The grip is intense when it needs to be, and the grittiness coupled with gory adult situations fit like a perfectly timedTetris. The humor is quirky at times and subtle at other more appropriate ones. You did a fine job so far and I commend you for it.

Hoping this continues as it should be envisioned. For me, I always compensate generously a well done game once it's finished. And this one has all the hallmarks of one.

I started the game just to try it without big expectations but as a surprise it turned out to be really engaging and exciting. It has a very refreshing dystopian setting and good animations and great characters. Story is also good written. Technically i think the Dev knows what he is doing and has a good knowledge of programming becauzse the playable part is already long for such a young game. And also the game is not bloated in size..i was surprised how long the game with 1.6GBalready is advanced...Great game and pofessionaly made..

Excellent renders, intriguing story, decent writing, a fairly accurate representation of the post apocalyptic world, beautiful models, a likable MC for once.
Relationships are a bit rushed, and the amount of added characters each update is excessive IMO. Given the fact that the characters who already exists have small screen time as of now. My advice will be to halt the addition of new characters for the time being so the dev is not overwhelmed

characters: 3/5 For the moment many characters are not deep enough, (our teammate disappears very quickly) but I have no doubt that this will happen in future updates

sex scene: 5/5 There are a lot of them, of very good quality and they are not too hardcore despite the post-apo universe (which remains coherent all the same)!

renders: 5/5 very good!

animation: 4/5 Rather very good, the fluidity is at the top, we would like more, but it's still quite generous

gameplay: 5/5 We really have the impression that our choices have importance in the big ones from the start, so it's very pleasant, but it's a little scary for the future, let's hope the game doesn't end up "losing itself" in too many choices.
The "karma" is indicated at the beginning to stop suddenly without warning, maybe it's due to the translation I have, but I found it weird, as if this idea had been abandoned along the way

Really glad I discovered this game. It's now become one of my favorites.

The pacing is excellent.
It manages to balance a lot of sex scenes so that you never have to wait too long for the next one, but at the same time, the story is actually interesting and keeps you intrigued.
There's cool mystery, that is introduced at the beginning of the game that hints at deeper worldbuilding.
In terms of writing, you can clearly see that English is not dev's native language, but otherwise it's competent and gets the point across.

Renders are crisp and not grainy like in many other 3D VNs. They are great where it matters. The environments are kind of mediocre, but girls look really great, attractive and unique.

I love how there're a lot of frames per scene (multiple angles, poses, expressions), which makes them feel much more alive and dynamic.

Even outside sex scenes, you're almost always in the company of one or more of your LIs and see them at least half-naked a lot, which is awesome.

There's one avoidable sex scene at the beginning of the game with another character and a girl who is not an LI.
But there's no NTR, and the dev doesn't plan to introduce it later.

I think the screenshots in the OP should be updated since they are exclusively from the beginning of the game and don't even show most of the main LIs.

The dev is really talented, and I hope the game becomes much more popular since it seems to fly under people's radar.

Oh gosh, this game immediately became my #1 .
It hits my kinks perfectly and help discover a new one.
I really like storytelling, dystopian postapo setting and enigmatic atmosphere.
Smooth animations, renders and dev's ability to create lewd scenes are strong points of this game.
Can't wait for the next update.

Hot Sand of Antarctica is a game taking place in post-apocalyptic wasteland. By looking marketing renders alone this game look nothing special, just another Ren'py project. However, behind average renders and clumsy beginning is a good game that has good sex scenes and quite merciless plot.

The main problem why this game does not deserve 5/5 is completely lack of lore. The game takes place in Antarctica, yet there are ruins everywhere. Characters and place names are most unoriginal you can imagine of. While I understand Antarctica is unmapped, it is not unnamed, so even the current sector names of that continent are not used. This game heavily revolves around incest, yet is incest accepted or just MC's family thing is not explained. In other words, there is no story behind the world.

Anyway, this game is good. The action is solid and sex scenes are well made. If you like Father-Daughter incest this game is must. The game goes a bit too much in grooming in my mind, but if you fetish is mom teaching sex to her twin-daughters while dad bangs her this is your game. When action starts, someone always dies. There are no morals, a life of kid can be exchanged for a few rounds of ammunition. Then there are some supernatural elements which make the plot more interesting.

I think the dev is rather inexperienced story teller, yet good with making renders and creating action. Like, this is only few games where females scream. For some reasons this caught my attention, that you know females behave like females. In how many games or shows females scream nowdays? Currently there is playing material for a few hours which is great. But to be excellent this game must be remastered later adding some meat around bones.

Fantastic start to a game! The game has a very nice mix of sex and story. The visuals are good and keep getting better. There is quite a bit of mystery going on as well. Should be fun to see where it goes. Definitely deserves some more attention.

Extremely well done. Interesting story, good art, sexy sex, good writing. I'm very much looking forward to the important choices and possible branches in the future. Until then, this game deserves more support IMO. Just 42 patrons is silly.

There's just 1 imperfect part in 4 episodes: the video doesn't work well with 'auto forward'. It should repeat a few times and then continue. Absolutely love all the rest.

I will give the dev props. They do have some skill and they are producing regular updates so you have to support and appreciate the hard work, because creating these games is not easy. The renders are good and the women are beautiful but that's about as far as the good goes.

The writing is mediocre at best. There are places with original names like "Rotten Town" which is run by Skull. The MC finds mysterious sisters who were captured by dudes named Monkey and Hog and both of these women drop trow in the first 5 minutes of meeting them...

Not to mention this whole area used to be covered by ice and yet now it is covered by ruins. Not sure where these ruins came from . Oh, and all of these new territories are run by bosses who all have harems and also control all the women, because I am sure all the dudes would be perfectly fine with that arrangement.

It's obvious English is not the dev's first language, but I would be okay with that if the story had some substance and some depth, but it's really not good.

I hate being this negative as I am a failed developer myself and this dev is at least working hard and trying to put something out there, and I do applaud the effort. It's just that there are so many good VNs coming out these days and just having good renders and fapping content doesn't cut it anymore. A good story is essential and this just isn't one.

I would encourage the dev to rethink the story before getting too much farther down the road. All the renders can stay and still be used, but, IMO, the story needs to be tightened up.
