Can I ask....why is furry even a thing? No judgement, i'm just curious. Do you people get turned on by animals? Or is it because these are humanoid so its weird and twisted but in a hot way ? (I usually like twisted stories)
To be fair, the Elera furries are disgusting and greasy, they look like what happens when a non-furry movie director includes a realistic CG anthro in their movie, but shaved and covered in baby oil for some unknown reason.
Elera sticking to these disgusting designs after all the complaints is both impressive and annoying, I wish the game's characters were slightly less unappealing.
...or at least stopped being so greasy.
Anyway, uh, furries have different appeal for different people, like:
1. "Cats are cute, and girls are cute, so a catgirl must be CUTEx2".
2. Being able to get rid of "boring" human dicks and pussies, switching to weird animal dicks and such, like dog furries being able to knot women (even though 99.999% of furries don't know how knots/knotting works). Also multiple rows of nipples/boobs, if you're into that, I guess.
3. No chance of dealing with all this race-relations stuff dominating all media the last 10-15 years. (Minus some people making them explicitly a human race despite being an animal. IDK.)
4. Avoiding the uncanny valley entirely. Can't trigger that weird "looks like a human, but isn't" response in our brains if they're not human at all.
5. More character designs to pick from and enjoy. No more "human, but dark and has big nose" or "human, but green and short", now you get digitigrade cats with fangs and claws that like to lick people they like and purr when they're happy, or reptilians who are extra clingy because they like your body warmth, or cow women with honking bonbonkerohoobas.
6. More things to express emotions with, like tails and ears, purring, frills, going into heat, etc.
Plus some other stuff, IDK.
I can definitely see why Elera's characters would turn people away, they're so weird and gross looking that even lots of furries dip out.
The only reason I support/play the game is in the hopes Elera finally adds some actual content to the game and stops making new characters, and I like that I can toss a buck in per month and get unlimited access to literally everything the game will ever offer forever because my $1 outpaces Elera's dev speed, heh.
EDIT:
Remembered a big #7, with human characters, low-quality art and anatomy is obvious, we've seen IRL humans all our lives, so if their arms are a bit long or their eyes are 2mm out of place, they look off. With furries, we don't have as much of a thing to reference them to other than the base animal, and we don't have real anthros IRL, so the lowest quality art that we can tolerate is quite a bit lower.
