The only thing I saw that was clearly missing from the sequel, was the use of skills we could raise (like the first game had). I played what exists in the sequel for now, and I don't think I'd recommend playing it to anyone until it progresses quite a bit further. It's basically an intro and two scenes with potential girls (no skills involved).
Honestly, the skills felt very unnecessary. I like the new perk system better. It feeds nicely into the route choice aspect of the game.

I guess I just got used to it in the first game. Not enough to do with any of it in the second, as short as it is. Maybe in a year or two it'll be a different story.

One of the dev posts a while back mentioned changing some systems. It wouldn't surprise me if the "point buy" perk system is gone for good in favor of choice and relationship determined factors like we've seen hints of in Ch 1.

I'm new around here. I recently played the previous title and just finished this one
I really enjoyed it! But judging by the story’s direction and the graphics quality, I’m curious
how long does it usually take for the developer to release a new update? Does it take a long time, or do updates come out fairly quickly?

This game was released recently, I'm just saying.:)

Judging by the first game, it can be assumed that it will be released updates somewhere from 3-6 months, depending on the duration of the update and the condition of the developer

Previous was 4.5-6 months....I expect this will be the same. IIRC though, just over 4 months from finishing GoH to this releasing.

I wouldn't count on 4 months being the norm for an update the size of Chapter 1 though. IIRC the dev mentioned they intentionally pushed themselves very hard to get it out, but it's probably not sustainable at that level long-term.

And that's fine. I'd rather a dev take a little extra time than face burnout.

Did I at any point say it would be the norm? Just answering the question with what the previous was and the gap between old and new (which was surprisingly quick).

No, but I was clarifying for other readers with additional details why they should expect a slightly longer release cadence.
