In the previous game via interactions with Ruby and others, MC learns he used to be Nero even if he doesn't have his memories back. So it's more of him acknowledging his past rather than remembering it.

There could be, one of the girls is inclined to that IMO, but what I loved of the first game was the corruption style and this so far is good
