First, I’m not a subscriber; I’m a pirate player. Second, I find this game creator interesting—not focusing time and energy on making the game but on anti-piracy efforts. I get it; you need to make money to do better work. What surprises me is that the game’s content updates are fewer than I expected. I don’t know how much you all know about game development or AI creation, but this level of update content feels like something only an original creative talent could produce—I mean original artwork, not AI-generated art. AI art can be churned out much faster, yet the creator claims their output is due to high-quality standards. Maybe that’s true, but if you follow creators focused on AI art, you’ll see they can complete a high-quality set of images in a single day.

Speaking of art assets, let’s talk about game code. This game doesn’t have very complex interactions, so the code logic isn’t particularly demanding. Of course, anti-piracy and payment systems probably require more effort. Yes, I’m saying the creator seems overly focused on monetization. Undeniably, anti-piracy efforts have earned them a lot of subscribed fans. But now, the creator’s approach feels like they’re toying with those subscribers. Subscribers aren’t pirate players—you should be catering to and satisfying them.

Of course, I’m not a subscriber, so I don’t know what they think. As a pirate player, I see a creator like this, and I steer clear while leaving a long comment.
Anyway, I’m a bad guy! But I’m happy.

this approach is so short sighted imo. yeah you may make more money as more people sub to get access, but over the duration of the game's dev time, all those subs will become more and more frustrated with the lack of enough content for the money they're paying. once you start punishing the hand that feeds you, i think the outcome is inevitable.

a lot of people are willing to go out of their way to pay for a game that they've initially pirated when they see that the dev is honest and hardworking and deserves to be supported. you end up getting more money this way. the vice versa is also a likely to happen.

I doubt that will happen because unlike certain people that are constantly around this thread, searching for every bit they can use to bash on the dev, he isn't straight insulting the dev, he's just providing his opinion.

The game clearly isn't for everyone, neither everyone likes the payment mechanics. Still, there's a difference between not supporting along providing fair criticism vs just straight up insulting the dev.

I kinda agree with that. I already made several rants about the paywalls, because imo I believe the time wasted on that would be better used when developing the game. Also, pirates will always be pirates, and if anything, it hurts more the possible consumer than others. Piracy usually isn't a pricing issue, it's an access one. If the game has fair pricing according to it's content, supporters will naturally come. But this is just my opinion.

Anyway, it seems the dev started to work full-time on the game this month, so hopefully the new releases have more content.
