I bought this game on steam, but since I can't buy the DLCs cause my stupid country banned untested sex games I feel no remorse getting it here

I think overall, game progress is moving slowly, for the amount of time it's been in development. I've only just picked it up again after a couple of years, the characters have barely progressed their events. The game looks much better though. I think this is probably why a Frank update might seem like a waste of time, as it's all very slow, and we're itching for something more.
I get your point regarding the token effort of, as it also comes across to me as an after-thought, and most the characters seem to be fairly universal in their sexuality, moulding to the players desires, which kinda makes sense from a gameplay perspective, as it's a developmentally cheap way to maximise the sex.
Unfortunately, I've seen far too many of these games with high Patreon numbers, and loads of backing, end up getting finished prematurely. Insexity, Big Brother, are a couple that come to mind. House Party has been in dev for years, has over 1000 patreons, which even at the base value, is quite a bit of money. That's before Steam and other platform sales.
It comes across now like they're about to mark it done, even though most the character stories are underdeveloped, and don't feel finished. We will probably get some minor updates, before HP2 is announced.
This is still the easy #1 on my most jerks out of a single game list, but yeah.....v12 maybe was the last time?
Leah was a complete "let's make her persona as non-sexy as we possibly can" miss for me, and I remember flipping over to pornhub after playing through Lety.

I've never heard of Insexity, but it was my understand that Big Brother didn't entirely choose to end it's game abruptly. It was more or less forced to end, due to Patreon putting it's foot down those years back, when they decided to be more strict about their sexual content, and the developer basically couldn't wiggle around all their new rules or something. I think they tried removing all the incest content from the game, with an optional patch to add it back in, but they gave up in the end, because it was risking losing their account, which is where their fanbase/money was.
I know they went on to make another very similar game, although I don't recall which, because I wasn't interested enough in it to play it.
Like....what about anything they have done or have been doing genuinely comes across as them being anywhere near to marking House Party as being close to done. Other then them simply making random comments like that for going on years now, and while occasionally hyping up a piece of vaporware that likely is more rooted in a need to string along that support money then anything else?
I mean here, this is direct from their website:

As for your point on other games, I've never got why people get so caught up in this idea concept that they absolutely need to see some elaborate and "finalized ending conclusion" in every game. As all you are really doing there is feeding the standard milk beast potential the dev then turns around and uses to his advantage by basically just never giving it to you. For all intents in purposes the original and pre-Grumps type crap content already had that ending to reach after a fairly hefty amount of invested playtime hours to get there. Which was you "beating the game" after you already screwed every girl you could in it.

So they remade BB inside Glamour. There were plenty of ways they could have done it. They just did it the smart way, maximising profits. Not saying that's a bad thing, just a disappointment.

I prefer open sandbox to an actual ending, but it just doesn't feel their story is progressing. The walkthrough has barely changed since I last tried playing it. Could be right, that they are working on the female play-through, and that's where all the effort is going. That might be interesting. That list is definitely right about needing to tie off lose ends.

I did start the story but when I go to the options and press the button to activate nudity I can't press it because the Game wants to open the Steam website. And beacause you can't play this Game on Steam in Germany I can't go to the site and change the option...
This is an early version of .19 that has the censor locked on. Follow these steps that were posted before to turn the censorship off in this version...
When you extract the archive, there's a folder called "Explicit Content" inside the main folder. Just copy it and paste it into "\HouseParty_Data\StreamingAssets"
Does anybody know what gift you give to Frank in the Budding Bromance opportunity?
^I do not think that part is finished in 0.19.0.

Anyway, If I am to review what value gives 0.19.0 to the straight male player, that would be extra comedy from new Frank parts of the story, reworked way how you gain trust with him, and ability with most of NPCs to ask them to hang with then at various places in the house.
And it looks like 0.19.x will make it possible to get Frank to leave the party.
As for 0.18.2, that was pretty much sex update, just to be aware for those that missed it. But most of its dialog was not voiced. And that will hopefully be done in 0.19.x final.
0.17.3 was Derek romance update. But biggest value here is in non-romance path with him, since his non-romance reward can boost your combat skill, making it much easier to finish Leah/Frank content. Also, alternate game ending that was available by resolving mystery of Derek's cat was fun to do once, just for the heck of it.
0.16.5 was Grumps add-on. Not my cup of the tea. Biggest value here was in game getting more exposure then ever.
This pretty much sums all work done on game in 2020.

This is kinda a big deal aspect new people need to pay more attention to while rushing to download any latest alpha or beta updates. Instead of just sticking to and/or waiting out for official releases. Since these updates rarely include it, and the voice acting is essentially a big contributing element to what makes this formula all gel together and feel a step above your typical chase the girl experience in games.
