During coding & modelling I'm too focused on the technical aspect of the work. But if its something more creative like design & planning or adjusting narrative I target middle ground. Some enthusiasm is needed, but not so much that you gonna blow.

I'm usually too invested in the writing process to get aroused. Sometimes it happens, which like others have already said, point to the smut going into a good direction. When it does occur, I just leave it be and take care of it after I hit a wall in the writing.
