No Patreon doesn't mean the game is abandoned. I've followed several devs on F95, who didn't have a Patreon. Some had Subscribestar, and some not even that.

Might be thinking of another game, but I'm pretty sure Dev abandoned this stating a technical issue they couldn't get past. Think they stated this in itch.
