Oh right, because knowing there are better ways to implement incest than making the player "choose your own relationships" can only mean ignorance of Patreon's stupid rules. Rules that make ignorant developers actively ruin their own games because they don't know how to design a binary script that checks for an incest patch.

Imagine you're writing a story and can only choose one of these words to address a female parent. Your grammar is going to inevitably get fucked up and it's going to be cringe inducing for the reader. So why not just write it the way it was meant to be and code in a if/then variable that checks for a patch and disguise it with "landlady" when there isn't one. That's the way hundreds of other developers do it to bypass Patreon's rules. And more often than not their game still comes out fucked up, but at least a patch offers more flexibility. Such as not being stuck with whatever word the player chose for mom at the beginning of the game.

I guess I have no choice but to either continue with my fucked-up choice or abandon the game.Ignoring the fact that wrong capitalization is hardly noticeable in an AVN (even at the beginning of a sentence - to handle all situations properly, the developer needs to code capitalization logic into the game), or that using Mom/Mother instead of mom/mother would hardly kill the understanding of a sentence [explain to me how that would matter at all], there is nothing preventing one from going back and changing the variable to whatever floats one's boat.
There are a lot of incest games out there, and several ways for developers to flout Patreon's dictates, including the one used in this game, the one you've suggested, and complete rewrite of the script. Do you go around to all of them and instruct the developers on the 'proper' way to code their games?
Two words. First impressions. They are everything. And I'd at least like to make it past the first literal minute of a game without the developer making me feel like they're an idiot. Lord knows there are more than enough other ways for them to do that already besides setting up and falling into their own contextual pit traps.

Right now, there are a bunch of Devs with their Patreon under review for incest patches found on this site and other third-party sites.
Patches are becoming quite risky, even if they are "fan made".
If a Dev wants to keep their Patreon, and make an incest game, naming relationships is the safest way to do that right now.
Until Patreon thinks of another way to fuck adult game Devs out of their money.

I have never seen anyone else complain about this in any incest game... EVER, and I've played, followed and supported many, so I see no reason in arguing over what appears to be your personal problem.
Probably because most of you people are all too easily satisfied and more than happy to toss these developers' salads for breadcrumbs.

I'm trying to find real virgins, but every game that I find they'll lose it sooner or later! You have to agree, the virgin tag is only useful / earned when they stay virgin, otherwise there is no virgin to find after playing the game. Everyone is losing their virgininity, why the tag?! I agree, this game has not earned it too! The MC could have stayed virgin, but NOOOOO!

Use my save and i have the last version of the game so i hope that solve the problem
not a bad game. writing is decent, though not great. translation is ok too. in English, at least, didn't check the other languages.
seems it will end in the next update, so it's s short game too.
MC is the only virgin in the game. all the girls are pretty experienced. it's not a bad thing in itself, but we all know some members here that will find fault in that Chloe could have been one, by the way she was presented.
We don't really know what happened between Chloe and MC in the past that drove them apart that much. is it just MC letting himself go into maximum procrastination? Chloe gave up on him and got a boyfriend, and tons of sex before breaking up for no reason except making herself single and sex starved for the plot?
Bella is supposed to have a boyfriend, but we never see him, and she behaves like she is completely single. even as she is part of the harem, she still didn't break up with him... was there some kind of planned netori scene that was cut from the game ?
Same for Annabel (or Annabelle as she is sometimes written as), where is her husband? the "father" of the kids. they never mention him at all. did he leave or is he dead?
honestly, MC was not that fat, and the new him is not that muscular or handsome at all. he just went from "chubby" to "not as chubby as before", there was no reason for Chloe to notice. the new hair style helps a bit, but it's not dramatic.
a change as extreme as in "Masamune-kun's revenge" could have been funnier.
you didn't even go past the first few renders, not even the first scene, or you wouldn't have made that comment about it. and capitalization doesn't matter, even if the dev didn't use it, in Renpy there is an easy way to change capitalization of variables on the fly.
also the difference between mom and mother doesn't matter. it's just personal preference.
you can actually choose what you want. there is not a single shred of doubt as to what the real relationship is between all characters. you can just name it to your own preference. it can limit the writing quality, as it won't allow stylistic freedom and vocabulary changes, but it's not like the average writing quality in incest games is that high anyway.

Why Chloe broke up with her boyfriend, we don't know. They broke up and that's that, why should we care? Bella has a boyfriend, but she's into her *Patreon censure*, maybe she's still dating her boyfriend and having sex with him too. We don't know and, as you rightly pointed out, we don't want to know; people get too excited about it, but nothing was cut out, it's just not details we're interested in. As for Annabelle’s husband, we also know nothing; let the player imagine what happened to him. I think such details add nothing to the game but complicate its adaptation to the strict rules of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

I actually want to know all that. those are details, but important details that add depth and backstory to your characters. it's important for the world building, and make it just that much more believable.
and about Bella's boyfriend, it's actually even more important, as you know how the anti-NTR crowd can react to that kind of detail
is she cheating on both MC and her boyrfriend at the same time ? is she just cheating on her boyfriend ? I think there was a quick line where she said she only had sex with the MC in the last few weeks and was waiting for him. maybe that boyfriend doesn't even exist, or she broke up with him long ago and she didn't have the courage to tell her family, or to protect herself from MC before the event ?sure, you can let your players imagine all that, but then it just means that your story is as superficial and forgettable as any other. there are things you can leave up to the imagination of the player, for example how the mind reading works and why it doesn't always activates, but those other details are not it
