So this is my first time using daz and I downloaded some assets from here and I installed them manually by extracting and copying but when I open daz and go to smart content tab it shows only assets installed with daz installed only way I can see manually installed assets is by going to content library.

If it's installed correctly, then it's most likely either a Poser asset (which don't show up in the smart content), or the person who made it, didn't include the metadata, which often is the case for assets from renderosity and renderotica.

If I have installed correctly is there is anyother way to get this asset under smart content cause its difficult to filter in content library.
Also what does manifest and supplement file does cause I haven't copied them

try right click on the smart content tab -> content db maintenence -> reimport metadata.
if that doesnt work, go to the character in your content library -> right click -> categorize -> and add it to the right category in smart content, it should show up there after that.
supplement and manifest files are for the dim.

Im the opposite, I never use the smart content tab, weather it is daz installed or manually install, I actually manually install a lot of daz installer files, you just have to set your menus up right, this is mine. xx.jpg
I find that 1000 times easier than the smart content tab.

I have installed this one

First I extracted then I copied contents to User/Public/My Daz 3d library
Do you not know how to install using Daz Install Manager? Everything from the Daz3d store can be installed this way and will have the appropriate metadata for smart content, as well as show up in your content library.

I do agree, however, that using the Content Library pane is a lot better.

As I said I downloaded assets from here not from daz store.
Do you know a way to install downloads from sites other than daz and install it using daz install manager?

Doesn't matter if you got it from here. If you look at the link in my previous reply, it tells you how to identify a zip from Daz3d store. Most importantly, it has a manifest file in the zip that tells Smart Content where the asset is installed. This site also lists the source of the asset so you can look at that when downloading as well.

You can try using this to convert non-DIM files into DIM files. I've never used it before, because I don't use smart content, so you'll have to ask in that thread if you need help.
