Here’s my game review (keep in mind that is in beta).
The gameplay is quite interesting at first then it becomes really repetitive especially after realizing that the bar minigame is the ONLY way of making some money reliably. This grind is annoying and typical of Asian rpg. You may like it, but in my opinion in a sex dating game it’s all just too much.
The dating progress is not linear like dead dating and much more tedious in my opinion, as you need to bring your date to every location you discovered as repeating a date in the same location more than twice won’t make any progress. I hate it. The dating mechanic and experience is the same for all the characters. You need to date 20 times a guy to trigger the sex scene. This is insane.
The guys are varied (all hunks as the game’s name suggests) and likable. You can date all of them at the same time without restarting the game. Big plus.
The CG are mixed SFW and NSFW, with only few full sex scenes (multiple pics per encounter). Most nsfw are just static images, a bit downgrade from Dead Dating. No animation at all, even during dialogues. No voiceover.
Some images look AI, as the artist seem to completely change his arts stile, from a 2D flat western comic style, to a smooth 3D looking ultra realistic images. AI processing might explain the uniformity of the images and the lack of animation (animation requires multiple layers and ai processing gives you a single image with no layers)
Since the creator is a real artist it could be a simple evolution of his style, no Ai cg used.
The lack of animation might be the result of increased complexity of game design behind a 3D game instead of a visual novel. Considering the 80% abandonment of 3D unity/unreal games, as they are infinitely more complex to implement and even more difficult to make them fun and engaging than “traditional” 2D scene based visual novels. The priority of these games is always the art and the immersion, it’s never the gameplay. A large collection of original CGs, a rich bundle of choices and interactive events, and interesting characters are always what users look for.
There are quite few translation errors (the creator might be Japanese speaking only)
The gaming experience provided by Dead Dating is way better in my opinion, as it feels like a real story that you feel compelled to engage. This game is too opened ended for me, with too few forms of entertainment and activities to do.
I feel like the open world exploration is needs some work as it adds nothing to the game experience (no hidden encounters, no hidden objects or areas), and you quickly learn to bypass it by using the teleport function. That doesn’t mean it’s completely trash, as it’s a cool novelty and a nice addition to the game.
At the current state I’ll give the game a cool 7.5/10 as I’m a fan of huge muscular bodies and this game provided PLENTY, and the scenes while static, are really hot. Maybe at the end of the month the game will remove the intensity of this grind and feel more uniform and cohesive.
